Yeah, I don't necessarily hurt for the Cowboys. I hurt more for Romo and Witten.

While some of you are optimistic for next year, this year was it.
I'm not optimistic for next year. I thought this was the year we caught lightning in a bottle and as it turns out, it wasn't. Romo, while more than capable as a QB is clearly on the downside physically. If Marinelli leaves, it's basically back to square one on defense. We had our shot this year and while officiating played a role in this game, mistakes and the failure to execute have plagued this team.

I hear they're probably going to expand the playoffs to 7 teams in each conference with only the top seed gaining a bye. If so it'll be easier to get in but tougher to advance unless you have home field.

I am still disgusted by that call. It was the most athletic play of the day by probably the best athlete on the field, and a book turned it over. What is happening to Sports.
i'm disgusted by the fumble.

That would have been a great deep pass if you were still a Colt, Peyton.

Funny how that works. Seen teams like the Rams go from 5-11 to SB champs in one year. Steelers and Packers from 9-7 6th seed to winning the SB. But Dallas, we have to be a #1 or #2 seed with a bye to have any chance of getting to the SB. Have to go back to the '75 Cowboys when only 4 teams made the playoffs in each conference to see a Cowboys team become a surprise SB participant.

I guess going from 8-8 to losing in the divisional round the next year is as good as it'll get for us.

This year was really the first time he became a fumbler. I wonder if that's not something he can correct. Also to the people who say he is slow I don't think that's correct at all. On the TD drive where Romo got hurt briefly you saw deceptive speed Murray has to turn the corner on his long run. He might not be super elusive but the guy has speed.
Murray's fumble didnt doom the Cowboys. After the fumble he ran a TD in and Dallas had the lead sgain. Romo fumbled twice that was more costly for the team.

Phil, the difference is that Kam jumped OVER the lines. He didn't land on them.

I quite like Murray, but there is no way I give him a new contract. He is a fumbler and though he stayed healthy this year, I doubt he does the same next year. Draft someone in round 3/4 and hello Adrian Peterson.
Yep. And probably save a lot of money that way too.

So if Dez stretches and crosses plane of goal line or hits cone it's a TD, but because he was short it's not a catch? Makes sense.
No. Megatron made the same play for a TD the first time and it was overturned.

Dez couldnt stretch because he had the ball penned to his shoulder with one arm.

It absolutely contributed. Hold on there and he scores making it a two possession game. Unlike what we saw where they score and force us to score a TD to regain the lead we once had.

If Romo is fine next year, we'll be in the playoffs again.

They key is to fix the defense.
For me, it's an intangible that's missing. We've gotten better at it, but we still leave way too much on the field with mistakes that add up. We're good enough to go far if we play mistake-free, but we don't.

This missing intangible is the reason why we didn't get the extra wins to prevent a Week 17 showdown the last couple years and the reason why we're not advancing to the NFCC this year.

And still another fucking week with all those no RB sets. Fucking retarded.
Retarded play calling for the most part, but I admire the balls on the toss up to Dez. That was excellent. And the faggot refs fucked it up with one of the most incomprehensible calls in NFL history.
