So, for all practical purposes, the Eagles will not have the cap guy (Roseman) and the talent guy (Gamble).

Now they will have Roseman over all of it with Kelly and some powerless personnel guy running the talent side.

I like this development very much.

Yeah, me too. :lol

I would be pissed if I was an Eagles fan, though.

WTH? :lol

They struck a deal, I guess. Just seems dumb to me to try and restructure yourself out of dysfunction.

That's 100 percent damage control. There's a real problem there.

Funny thing is, all that is happening is they are putting back in place what Roseman just tore down, complete with all the same problems.

I can't imagine this ends well.

It's exactly what they had before, just with different titles. And Roseman seems to HATE being the "cap" guy.

It is about all he is fricking qualified for. He only has a job because of Mike Tannenbaum when he started as a lowly personnel intern.

He is like I said before, Waylon Smithers to the owner.

It is pretty clear that the guy did not pay his dues and is pretty much like that suck up little worm at work that amazingly gets promotion after promotion. He's good at politics, obviously.

I think you are a little off that this was just a title change. I think the next personnel guy that takes over will have a lot less stroke than Gamble did and Roseman will do what he wants when he wants to dig into it.

I am basing it on the fact that Kelly os overseeing the process of hiring the new guy. Which tells me it'll be another guy in Kelly's camp most likely, and Roseman will again grow to resent it.

And it was probably a concession to Kelly, who was obviously pissed Gamble got fired, and who I believe put out all these rumors that he wanted out. Lurie basically had no choice but to reset the structure back to how it was before Gamble got the axe, or else risk losing Kelly altogether.

It's sure sounding like Shanahan may be going to the 49ers.

And that's a huge step down. Rat Face ain't got it anymore.
He spent all day New Years day with them. I'm guessing that's the direction they go. But, yeah, I agree. Big step backwards.

Bears have no interest in Rex Ryan

Posted by Mike Florio on January 3, 2015, 8:12 PM EST

Thirty years ago, Buddy Ryan served as the architect of one of the greatest defenses of all time: The 1985 Bears. Now that the Bears are looking for a new coach and Buddy’s son, Rex, is looking for work, it seems to be a perfect match — especially with Chicago surely hoping to find someone who is the opposite of Marc Trestman.

But the things that make the most sense are often the things that have the least chance of happening. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bears have no interest in Rex.

It’s unclear why the Bears aren’t interested. Former Colts, Browns, and Giants G.M. Ernie Accorsi has been working as a consultant, and it’s possible Accorsi has advised against Buddy’s son. Regardless, Rex won’t be the coach of the Bears, barring a dramatic change of heart.

Apparently Blank hasn't decided what to do with GM Dimitroff yet and he's waiting to hire a coach and get his input on the GM before deciding his future.

lol wut? Why do so many owners do it backwards these days?
