Stoops especially needs to STFU about the SEC. It's fine for fans like me to trash talk a bit but as a coach he needs to worry about getting his own house in order.

By the looks of it he spent way too much time taking shots at the SEC and patting himself on the back for last year's Sugar Bowl. Should have used more of that time to actually develop a competent QB and developing a collegiate level passing game & offensive game plan.

There are high schools out there who could kick this OU team's ass. I'm dead serious.

I hate that there are tons of OU fans out there still clinging on to that National Title from 2000.

Any time that someone starts suggesting that Stoops has run his course at Oklahoma all you hear from them are "Who are you going to hire that's better" and "We won it in 2000 and were in 3 other title games."

It's like they read Schmitty's Garrett defense strategy.

There are plenty of hot coaches, HC & coordinators, who could come in and give this program a jolt of life.

Complacency is dragging the program down. Drastic changes need to be made otherwise it's more of the same. E.g. poor player development; stale, unimaginative game plans, QBs who can't complete passes beyond 10 yards down field w/consistency; DBs constantly giving WRs 10 yards of cushion; etc.

Anyhoo, I don't mind the smack talk so much. The SEC is not all that impressive right now. I know that [MENTION=12]Deuce[/MENTION] really felt vindicated (about defending a conference that his school isn't even part of) by posting the SEC's bowl record but you really need to dig deeper to see what's going on. The SEC didn't do much impressive this bowl season. Their top tier teams lost and they didn't didn't pull off one single upset.

The most impressive game relative to their conference was Arky vs. UT. But did that really impress anyone? I mean seriously, look at the actual games and opponents. They won against 2 ranked opponents - #13 Georgia over #21 Louisville and #16 Mizzu over #25 Minnesota. Does that blow anyone away? Yay!

Conversely they were upset 3 times when it really mattered the most. So cling to the moral victories as much as makes you feel good. I challenge anyone to look at the conference matchups and records and point out impressive wins vs. disappointing loses and tell me that you are still impressed.

Take heart Skids. TCU will be good next year, Baylor will be decent to good. I like Texas new coach and think Texas will be on the rise again. That just means OSU, OU and Tech need to get it together.

The Big 12 had one elite team, one good team and a bunch of trash.

Good news though!!!! The Big 12 isn't going to expand buuuuuuuuuuuut if it does it will add some really mediocre teams. Big 12!! Big 12!!! Big 12!!!

That ECU/UF whatever it was bowl this afternoon was awful. UF did their best to hand that one to ECU but ECU just failed time and again.

There are some big time high school programs who I honestly think can give OU a run for their money.

Have you seen the garbage offense the Sooners run with Trevor Knight? It's nothing but constant forced passes to Sterling Shepard, WR/Flanker screens, and occasional deep passes.

Plus Knight will likely spot the other team points by throwing a pick 6. He had about 5 or 6 of them this season. Even 2013 Matt Schaub thinks Knight throws too many pick 6s.

So yeah, I'll give the top High School programs in Texas a very good shot at beating OU.

I think the nepotism has probably put a damper on a few things With the program.. It's hard to have stern conversations to a brother if they screw up especially since they were a HC themself. It just not good policy. OU also needs an OC who can get more out of the players. They have made the transition to a new system but the personnel appear to not understand it at times.
