They were not as good because they couldn't beat a team without their starter. It's not that hard. It's has nothing to do with evaluating OSU s players and everything to do with the percieved quality of Alabama. Quit trying to twist things to fit your agenda and just take it for what it is. I know what I said. It's about the overhyped expectations of the Alabama team. That how I started and that's what I mean.

You minimized the QB...not twisting anything. He is good and so is OSU...not twisting anything. Was Alabama overhyped? Not sure, but they certainly were a top 4 team and were rated #1 by greater football minds that you.

To me this conversation is just weird. OSU played a really good game and came together as a team. They seemed to rise to the occasion when they needed to. They rallied around their QB despite his obvious lack of experience. He seems like a tough kid but he is no Miller or Barrett. He was the 3rd stringer. Urban is really good at getting teams to play together. This takes pressure off of the QB. Still, I have no doubt that Alabama would have got destroyed had the other two QBs been ready to play.

Honestly I give more credit to what OSU did than what what Alabama didn't. Had it said that, Alabama didn't blow me away at all. I was a little shocked that they couldn't disrupt the QB more and make him flench. You'd think that might sec defense could show up more than they did.

I said OSU looked good to me but Carp can't accept that for some reason.

When you pointed out that OSU beat them handily without their starting QB...that is not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Braxton Miller is a huge FA next year...I wonder if he'd go to Oregon, but an even crazier situation would be him going to Michigan.

When you use his 3rd string status to show how badly Alabama failed then it is not complementary at all. This is pointless though...I don't agree with you on this matter or how Alabama is somehow given an advantage over other teams. Good talk though.

He was their 3 rd string and I didn't make that his designation, his coach did. That has no bearing on his performance. In addition I didn't say Alabama was given an advantage, I said the media hyped them more so than most. Can we stick to what I actually say and not how you interpret it?

I just wonder what kind of fit he'd be for them though. Fisher seems to like a more conventional QB. Mariota is definitely better, but I think they could run the QB more than they did with him.

Well of course I said the media and voters have a bias toward then but you can't translate that as an advantage playing the game. That has been my entire premise from the start. The media and voters are bias in their favor. In the end the game is played on the field and all the bias doesn't help there. And by the way advantage is your word.
