Martin Freeman is just Fargo to me. I choose not to judge him as a hobbit.

Watched this flick called Under The Skin with Scarlett Johansson.

Quite possibly one of the weirdest movies I have watched recently.

It is artistic, certainly. And it has plenty of Johansson fully nude.

Can't decide if I liked it or want the last two hours of my life back.
I thought it was really great. It was one of those "what did I just watch" movies. But the scenery was beautiful. Some parts were very disturbing. Johannson is such a great actress. I've been reading different interpetations of the film to try to get a better understanding. I may have to get the book.

It's not for everyone, for sure.

Paul Feig says his Ghostbusters movie will be “scarier than the original”

For all of the acclaim that the original Ghostbusters movie gets, a lot of people seem very willing to ignore its one glaring flaw: it isn’t very scary. Seriously, the movie managed to get four masters of horror—Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson—all together, and they made the movie into a comedy? Thankfully, it sounds like Paul Feig is going to remedy that a little bit for his all-female Ghostbusters reboot. In an interview with Empire, the Bridesmaids director said that he and co-writer Katie Dipold are trying to make their new Ghostbusters movie “scarier than the original.” He says it’ll be a “scary comedy” and that they “don’t want to hold back.” Hopefully, this will settle everyone’s concerns about the reboot.

In other Ghostbusters news, Feig says the movie will have to be stuck with a PG-13 rating so “the biggest number of people” can see it and “not be put off by it.” He’d like to make it R-rated, but he doesn’t think Ghostbusters needs “that level of swearing.” Also, he’s waiting until the first draft of the script is done before he starts considering any of the actresses who have expressed interest in joining the project. He wants to hold off and see who will fit the roles the best, which means Rebel Wilson and Gillian Anderson will have to keep waiting by their phones. Is that a “who ya gonna call” joke? It probably should be.

14 Films Trapped in Development Hell

There are some interesting movie ideas in here, this one jumps out to me.
http://movieseum.com/10-films-trapped-in-development-hell/13/

Roboapocalypse
From a director down on his luck, to one who tanked his own film. After the success of World War Z, apocalyptic travel novels made up of dispatches of the origin of said apocalypse are now all the rage. Enter Roboapocolypse–an adaptation of Daniel H Wilson’s novel with Steven Spielberg attached to direct. The film seemed to be on the fast lane to the big screen with the casting of Chris Hemsworth and Ben Wishaw announced in quick succession. Things came grinding to a halt thanks to Spielberg. Apparently the director plans to trim the budget and is unhappy with the state of the script. Just as with World War Z, it’s not the easiest text to adapt for the screen, but just by reading the book, there are sequences that you can’t help but imagine would look wonderful on the big screen. At the start of the year, Steven Spielberg was insistent that the movie was still an active one, and that he’d found a more personal way to tell the story. What that is, we’re going to have wait some time to find out. If it does happen, the Robopocalypse movie won’t be with us until at least 2016.

Rendezvous With Rama

This adaptation of acclaimed science fiction and 2001: A Space Odyssey Arthur C Clarke’s novel, has been Morgan Freeman’s pet project for over ten years. The novel tells the story of an alien ship that has entered earth’s atmosphere, and the human scientists that want to explore it. While the premise is your basic sci-fi fare, the fact that it was written by C Clarke guarantees “SERIOUS PHILOSOPHICAL QUESTIONS.” The problem is, after ten years, there is still no workable script. As recently as 2012, Freeman told reporters that if this problem is fixed then the film will go ahead with his Seven director David Fincher in the hot seat. The thing that’s so hard to understand about this is that anyone could say no to Morgan Freeman.

I've only ever read a few of Pynchon's short stories and The Crying of Lot 49, which I really liked.

I've heard Inherent Vice is more accessible than some of his other novels, and I've thought about giving it a shot. I take it you'd recommend it?

When the Sony stuff leaked, I think I read that they also want to do a different, male sequel or reboot or remake or whatever with Channing Tatum as a lead. It's going to turn into a big cluster.

Not that I want him in a Ghostbusters movie, but Tatum is developing some chops. He was good in Foxcatcher.

Wow, foxcatcher's trailer makes it look like a great film (and I am usually a "movie" guy)
