I disagree.

Listen to the Broncos fans. They are asking the same questions and making the same comments that we were making. Where's Ware? Ware's been a no show the past few weeks. etc.

This late in the season Ware is pretty much worthless.
Yeah, he is entering the twilight of his career. It just happens. No one is exempt from the wear and tear of the game. Every player hits a peak then it's all down hill from there. Ware hit his peak about 3 seasons ago.

What's funny to me is that Ware definitely disappears in 4th quarters and in December, yet somehow he he avoids being tagged as a choker while Romo shouldered that year after year. Now all of a sudden the year we dump Ware we have the best December we've had in a long, long time.

The accountability is spread among many lesser known, younger players who try harder because they can be benched and they know it.

We talked about this effect in the offseason a lot, and are benefiting from it now.

Romo's ribs feel a pang of regret, but the offense ate Bobby's lunch.
Bobby Wagner was injured early in the Cowboys game. He returned, but missed the next 5 games, so I can't imagine him being 100%. Anyway, since his return against the 1st Cardinals game, the defense has been invincible.

I love how Brockers and Wagner were said to be our picks if we stayed put instead of trading up for Claibust.

It's why it was important to clean house on defense a little. Even though everyone thought it was the end of the world.

I still think a lot of Ware and the rest of the defense folding late had to do with our one-dimensional downfield-passing offense. In the 1990s our defenses were fresh and rested in the 4th quarters and in December. I think Ware spent his career in Dallas being left on the field too long.

I also think that has a lot to do with Romo and the month of December. A team that can't and won't run the ball and can only pass downfield struggles on the road in cold weather? Do tell!

Now we have an OL and run the football and suddenly the defense plays better late in the year instead of being in full collapse mode, and the offense is running on all cylinders! Holy Shit! It must be magic!

That said, I did support moving on from Ware, he just wasn't worth the money we were paying him.

So they not only ate Seattle's lunch they took Bobby out, too. Dallas makes Seattle miss their D-line from 2013.

Unless bizarre shit happens, the Dallas offense should be pummeling them by the 4th quarter. I don't fear Seattle or Arizona or even Green Bay. What I fear is a meltdown home loss vs. Detroit. Dallas is its own worst enemy.

Seattle's pass rush looked like absolute shit against us. Wagner had nothing to do with that. Mebane was really the only one that even caused us moderate trouble and he is shut down for the season.

I tried to tell everyone that Ware was a disappearing, non-clutch player for the longest time.

About time the rest of you started getting hip to this. :art

You would have been wrong almost the entire time. One could say he's had a iffy performance as a defensive end. As the last few years in that position he's faded. But his track record as an outside linebacker is pristine. Anyone who thinks Ware from 2006-2011 was anything but a hall of fame level player is supremely wrong.

That's the timeline I have on his career as well. I posted yesterday that he hit his peak 3 years ago.

It's funny to me that "clutch pass rusher" is suddenly a thing. As if a sack in any important game isn't important. Sacks almost always kill drives, that's why they're a stat worth keeping. Any sack is a momentum shifter. Ware had multiple sacks in the 2005 Panthers game, the 2006 lions game, 2008 (2nd) Giants game, and the 2009 Saints game which were all big parts of playoff attempts. In the last 4 games in 2010 and 2011 he had 6 and 4.5 sacks respectively. This unclutch narrative is BS, and Ware being a year older doesn't make it any less idiotic.

Pffff....I never argued that he wasn't a great talent, I always maintained that he disappeared in big games and crunch moments, which he did.

See games mentioned in post above. (2005 Panthers, 2006 Lions, 2008 2nd Giants game, 2009 Saints.) There are a dozen more examples too, those are just the most apparent. The guy showed up for big games, you're asking too many instances to be called exceptions otherwise.
