The offseason will be a failure without resigning McClain.
Between McClain, Lee, Carter, Hitchens, and Lawrence (and maybe Durant..) that would be a pretty good LB core for the future

As depth I think he is decent
If he is willing to take that type of contract I agree. The problem is I don't want him to sign with the expectation as a former second round pick that he will start over Hitchens who is clearly the better overall player in my opinion.

Manning was dreadful last night.

Some of those passes, including 2 that were picked, had absolutely no velocity on them and looked like he threw them with his left hand.

I wonder how much the guy has left?

Now, why would he do that? For the insurance money? Not likely.
It's 1.5 million dollars and he is the beneficiary. He is making $700,000 right now on a one year deal. Who knows what expenses/debts he's piled up? Terrell Owens left football broke.

It does looks suspicious. But with the year he's having he was going to see a much higher salary next year. I think it'd been easier to just find a new real estate agent and then wait til the offseason to cash in on a new deal.

As a general matter you don't make money on aarson acts. It is more of a desperation strategy. The exception is fraudulently valued real estate and property. If he has debt on the house then the creditor would be named as the loss payee on any insurance policy. Since he is gainfully employed and has good future prospects it is likely creditors would work with him. Again short of stupid forethought it doesn't have the earmarks of self perpetuated aarson. Just have to wait this one out.

I can't believe this is even a discussion. This is a pretty off the wall assumption by Ravi.

Ok, so I have two questions that are sort of off topic here, but:

DeMarcus Ware's production this season, did we miss it? Would his presence here this season have made that much of a difference?

and

Are we seeing the beginning of the end for Peyton manning?

1) We could really use him now for this home stretch. What I don't miss is the overdependence on him to the exclusion of others deserving of playing time.

2) It's inevitable, right? But credit Cincinnati's defense. They kept Peyton and his WR's out of sync on blitz adjustments much of the night. He might only have two fastballs a night instead of 5, but Peyton's decision making on his worst night is still outstanding for most. He could play for years more if he wanted.

I disagree.

Listen to the Broncos fans. They are asking the same questions and making the same comments that we were making. Where's Ware? Ware's been a no show the past few weeks. etc.

This late in the season Ware is pretty much worthless.
