I just received an Amber Alert for Terrence Williams.
That's because he isn't a true #2 receiver.

No one on this team, including Dez, can consistently get open, and a big reason for that is because no one this team is a great route runner, and none of them gain much separation as a result.

We need a guy who can just line up against the guy in front of him and just consistently beat him. A guy who gets open often and can be counted on to produce on a weekly basis.

Dez makes plays because of his tremendous overall ability, but he struggles to create separation, and I think that's why it isn't too hard to take him out of a game as many teams have done.

To be fair, I think these receivers are hurt by the lack of creativity and routes in this offense, but they still are hindered by their aforementioned weaknesses.

We need a Terry Glenn type. A guy who isn't a true #1, but they put up #1 type of production because they run great routes and consistently get open, and pose a legitimate concern for the opposing defense.

I had a real problem with the way that Romo bailed on several plays.

Just laid down and gave up like a bitch on a few key plays. I know the loss doesn't fall squarely on his shoulders but when you're the highest paid player on the team and the team leader I expect you to stand in there and fight.

It was pathetic. He was all about self preservation.
He's been that way for awhile and the Romo mojo is mostly gone. While not a running QB, he used to be a master at escaping pressure and making something out of nothing but now he generally crumbles at the first sign of pressure after he's been hit a time or two. He still pulls a rabbit out of the hat now and again but not like he used to. In games like this one where he's consistently pressured or hit, he plays scared. He's past his physical peak and experiencing the football equivalent of PTSD. He has his moments but he is very close to being done. For every great pass he throws, there are two or three "WTF was he thinking" throws. He is clearly on the downside of his career.

I don't think Romo was 100% on short rest. He looked like crap, especially late in the game, his arm strength was gone and he was way off target. Linehan got nervous because of the score and abandoned the run again, getting Romo hit over and over so he started out shaky and ended up completely unglued.

20 runs to 29 passes is not balanced enough, even though the Eagles did a good job stopping the run in the first half, we opened up the second half with a couple of good runs and went away from it.
Balanced running would not have made any difference in this game. Dallas did so in the first half and was still dragging ass on the score board. A balanced attack presupposes there is an adequate passing game. It wasn't there the entire game. I agree Romo looked completely spent the entire game.

That 3 hour difference matters? That's excuse making.
Actually 6 or 7 hours when you add in the fact that a regular Thursday game is in the evening.

Being on the road too, but that is not an excuse. We had a bye coming in and had extra time to prepare for the Eagles and did a bad job with that.

I'm not blaming that as the main reason why we lost at all. We played like crap on the field and was out coached. I do think it had an affect and think the scheduling should take that into account now that Thursday games are here to stay.

if 8-8, fired
10-6 and miss, no
I doubt Garrett is fired for 8-8 now, Jerry is having fun and has no desire to go back to walking on eggshells.

No doubt it had an affect, but my point was more that we had time to prepare for both NY and Philly in that bye week, but we looked ill prepared in both games. Part of it though is that you can't really overcome lack of talent defensively with preparation...and can't overcome your QB taking a big shit all over himself with preparation.

We need to get back to our run first commitment from the first half of the season, Marinelli's scrapped together defense only works if we keep it off the field for most of the game.

This was a classic 2013 game with us trying to pitch it on first and second down to try and get "momentum" back, even though Romo couldn't pass for shit all game.

The D got exposed and Romo played craptasticly bad. We all knew it was over when it got to 20-7.

Running game is ineffective if the passing game is absent. Yesterday the passing game stayed in the locker room.

I'd have preferred featuring the run more prominently, and focusing on our short passing game. Romo looked nearly Weedon level bad at getting the ball down the field.

It's important Linehan learns when and how to adjust when Romo loses all of his arm strength as this will likely happen a few more times when it gets even colder.

The long drop, lame duck passes on 1st down will be the death of us.

That being said Murray gave the most east and west running, jukey performance I've ever seen from him. The oline also looked lost, no idea what happened to that team from Sunday night, much less Seattle.

Philly stacked the box all day. They did this not only to stop the run but also to neutralize Romo. There were very few times Romo had anywhere to retreat to and he was off target all day. Philly did exactly what the Skins did and it is the perfect template for stopping Dallas' offense for both the pass and run.

I slept on it, and yep, am still disgusted. I can't remember the last time I turned a game off. The hurry up offense is our nemesis and we just can't adjust to get pressure. We got killed yesterday by it. The only thing that really surprised me was how inept our offense looked against a very average defense. I knew they would score point, I just hoped that we could hang with them.

They could have tried to play keep away but they still would have lost. They were getting whipped at the LOS. Wish I could blame it on the playcalling, at least there could be some hope. We got dressed down in every way possible. The gig is up.

It didn't feel like the run was all that stifled. Maybe that was the Cowboys just taking what was offered. It seemed like they were leaving guys running open deep, and a Romo on his game would have beat them to death. I really pray that happens in Philly.
