Think this is what most of us are still a little mad at, the knock on him coming out was he couldn't block and then after saying they would find ways to get him involved they used the excuse of he couldn't block yet as to why he wasn't getting on the field.
Yep.

In the end it's better late than never.

All of those guys are more H back than TE, none can play inline consistently, except Allen and Escobar was a much higher rated prospect and is only beginning to be utilized.

Escobar was drafted to replace Witten, it remains to be seen if that works out.
I'm not sure if Witten will allow that to happen. I have no idea how long he will play but I feel like he is the type of player that you will have to drag off the field to get him to give up this sport.

I don't see Witten retiring until Romo does.

Yes but age takes over ones body and that helps you to get dragged off. Take it from someone who knows. Witten will get to a point where He will welcome a break once he wins a championship. If it happens sooner than later Escobar will still be a young man.

I think the question is how long though? 3 years from now Escobar may no longer be with this team. Although it would be nice to get him signed up cheap as a number 2 TE and then have him their to take over the number 1 role at a reduced cost. The problem is most TEs want the chance to be the go to guy which is why they will bolt Dallas as soon as that rookie contract is up because they don't see Witten going anywhere.

That is the question. Witten could suffer a bad injury as well. We will all have to wait and see on this one.

Witten is scheduled to make 6.5 million and a cap hit of 7.4 in 2016, unless he restructures I doubt they keep him around or should keep him around.

Witten is a great player, but there is no way you pay him like a top 5 TE at that age and years.

Now Escobar has to continue to develop but if he does you go with the younger cheaper guy.

How much longer do you see Witten playing and at what level?

You don't think Witten would restructure? I seriously think he has no desire to ever leave Dallas.

Restructure was the wrong word, I should have said pay cut.

We have a lot of young guys to re up the next 2 years Witten is looking to be a luxury we cannot keep with all of these weapons on offense.

Not trying to run Witten out of town but he is the type of veteran you move on from before he becomes too expensive.

Eric Bjornson had 48 catches for 388 yards his second year. You say Escotron has 9 catches so far?

NFL be warned of the second coming...:skurred

Bjornson was a starter. Escobar is a backup playing behind a HOFer.

Good comparison.
