Watching this UCLA game makes me wonder why the NFL stopped using the Rose Bowl as a Super Bowl site.

It's a big stadium, it's right near L.A., and the weather is always magnificent.

I also have a soft spot for it since the last Super Bowl played there was won by the Cowboys.

Ah, the good old days.

Rose Bowl is beautiful. But it is a very old stadium that hasn't really been updated with enough luxury suites etc. It's a great place to watch a game though and Pasadena is a fun spot too.

I feel your pain Plan...almost.
Almost is the key word. Your boys were riding some hard times for a good long while, but nothing like this. Even during the Davie/Willingham/Weis eras, those teams were at least mediocre. We're not even that good.

Reading that David Shaw is getting some looks from the Raiders. I wonder why he would bother with that dumpster fire.

No, they had some bad years. 4 wins one year I think.

Money. Stanford pays dick.
He could get money from many other teams besides the Raiders. IMO, his philosophy would be perfect for Michigan, but he is not a MICHIGAN MAN!!!!

Shaw would be a superb coach at Michigan, and it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up on our short list as long as the tradition clutching alumni stay out of the way. Even still, aside from money, what incentive would he have to leave Palo Alto? The weather is better in Palo Alto, the recruiting is very fertile in California, the competition is better in the Pac-12, and there is far less pressure to succeed at Stanford than at Michigan. Even as a Michigan man myself, we're a downgrade from Stanford beyond that of tradition.

I think anyone with any kind of ego wants to win on the big stage. To be the man who brought them back from the dead would be legend building. Also, Stanford is pretty restrictive with their academics. Michigan can recruit anywhere they want, while Stanford is definitely regional.

College football insider for NFL.com was on the radio this morning and said Les Miles is his pick for Michigan. LSU having a down year and he's under a lot of scrutiny for it so he could bounce to Michigan and rebuild a team with his recruiting and take over a bad conference.

He is not going to take over the conference with Meyer there now.

I'd take Meyer and the OSU program over him all day, every day.
Well right now of course. Meeeshigan is terrible. You'd hope someone like Miles could resurrect that dumpster fire.

Maybe Miles should come to Tech and ressurect the program. That way we can focus on football instead of GQ. /end frustrated and impatient tech fan.

The statement was that he could come in and take over the conference...he won't be able to do that with Meyer at OSU.

You'll always have Baylor.
Baylor is what I watch when I want to see exciting football. I still watch every Tech game regardless.

Les got his at LSU while Meyer was at UF. There's enough room for the two of them.
