I hate that we drafted Frederick with our first round pick. I'd have been fine with him at #47.

I hate the Escobar pick because we've been down this road before and we've failed miserably each time. Hanna can do what they are asking Escobar to do. They could have tweak the scheme as our GM/coach demanded and used Hanna in that second TE role.

The Wilcox bothers me as well. Again we've been down this road before. This will be another small school safety who can't adjust to the NFL.

The OL and DL held this team back in 2012 and for some unknown reason the people in charge don't feel the need to go all in to rebuild those areas.
Maybe next year will realize how important the trenches are.

Honestly, while I am not surprised, it bothers me we did next to nothing defensively to make a real difference.

I guess we figure Monte and the great savior Marinelli will just make everything okay with basically the same group of players.

Keim is doing a great job in his first draft. Very impressed.
Feh, he took Cooper over Warmack. He got a couple of solid RBs and I like the Okafor pick as a steal but it's nothing to slob the guys nob for. The Cardinals will still suck horribly because he put his faith in Palmer.

The TE things bugs me most because we drafted capable second TEs in Fasano and Bennett. Those guys are having productive careers elsewhere. We keep spending huge picks on #1 TEs and then not using them effectively because we have Witten. I kind of agree with Jerry to a point that we keep having 2 really good TEs and not using the 2TE offense effectively. That being said, maybe we should be drafting some other position in the 2nd...

What QB could he have taken in this draft that would have mattered?

Cooper is a good player...if they are running zone, I don't think it was a bad pick at all.

While you claim don't slob the knob, I would trade our draft for theirs hands down right now.

Is there another team in the league that continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over without learning like the Cowboys?

This is the exact same approach we took with Rob Ryan going into 2011. No acquisitions necessary, our super DC will take care of everything.

Idiots.

I like the Holloman pick, he's a good fit and shores up our LB depth.

Overall this seems like a C+ draft to me.

Add an irrational belief that traditionally injury prone players like Ratliff and Hatcher will miraculously hold up this year and that's pretty much how the retards must see it.

Escobar will be a 300 yard receiving TE for a few years and then leave after being viewed a bust and start somewhere else. He is a super expensive insurance policy for a probowl TE who never misses a game.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

How much better does this draft look instead:

1 (31) FS Jonathan Cyprien
2 (47) C Travis Frederick
3 (74) WR Terrance Williams
3 (80) DT Jonathan Jenkins
4 (114) LB Khaseem Greene
5 (151) OL David Quesenberry
6 (185) RB Andre Ellington

I don't know if Frederick would have been there, but assume he would have been.

What also sucks is we still need another TE because we don't have a true blocking TE.

Instead get a backup for Witten a guy who basically never misses a game even if he breaks his jaw.

Whatever problems you have with the escobar pick, I promise you you will forget all about them. He's a player. He isn't Bennett and he's much better than Hanna. And I like Hanna.

I think they are being prudent here in case of an injury to Written, who's never been injured but is old. Romp depends on that safety valve too much to have a Guy there that can't get open if wittens down. Escobar is always open. Hanna isn't.

That's what I meant. Wittens has been rode hard for a long time now. He is still young but he seems much more lumbering and clumsy than he used too. He certainly doesn't run a 4.6 anymore.

Witten is the toughest player on this team. He was back on the field a few weeks after getting his damn spleen skewered. I'm much more worried about injuries to Ratliff, Hatcher, and Ware -- who have no credible backups. Escobar will likely be a very good player but the pick was a luxury selection we couldn't really afford given other dire needs. It's like getting a new paint job on your car when the engine is blowing smoke and hemorrhaging oil.

I actually like the draft. Please note, I mean I like the draft in relation to the monkeys making the picks, not necessarily in relation to any other competent front office.

The problem is not with the player.

It is how this staff will use the player. When your clueless owner decides he wants to practically pass around a piece of paper for them to sign saying it won't be the "same old, same old", that should bother you.
