This loss was not on anyone but Romo. The D played well enough to win...not great, but fine. He was just awful.
Pretty much.

Unless you want to throw in the coaching staff because I don't think he or the first team offense looked ready to play.

They didn't get enough work. Garrett thought he could just plug them all in and they looked rusty instead.

The thing on D...if you run someone deep and then someone under it is open all damn day.

Wonder how different the game would've been had we tied it up 7-7 instead of that FG

The offense was fine. If Romo does not force it to Dez underneath for his int Williams was wide open for the TD. Not to mention missing Harris on the PA before he forced it to Witten for an int. 2 scores right there.

You do need to call the run now in the red zone too.

On that int towards Witten in the endzone, I think there were 7-8 49ers in coverage.

You gotta recognize that defense and audible, if a run wasn't an option sent in.

Hard to pin this one on anybody but Romo. He was just plain horrid. The reads were off and the throws were off as well. Hard to say if that was rust or not trusting the back.

As much as we laughed at Nick Foles earlier today, Romo gave Eagles' fans plenty of ammunition.

I know it's one game/knee-jerk reaction, but for the 2014 season straight-up, would you rather have Romo or Nick Foles?

Romo 3 int = Foles 3 turnovers
Dallas play SF> Egals played Jax

My observations
  • The running game looked good this afternoon. Plenty of running lanes and despite the fumble Murray was our best player today.
  • Romo was awful as we all know. I'll chalk this up as one of the usual 2-3 clunkers that he has each year.
  • The situational play calling is still hit or miss; usually a miss. Again we pass too much near the GL instead of trying to pound the ball into the EZ. It goes back to our old assessment. If you have a mistake-prone QB manage the game accordingly to minimize the chances that he'll make back-breaking mistakes. We still haven't figured that out.
  • I thought Garrett missed a golden opportunity to send a strong message to his team that this is a make or break year and that everyone will be held accountable for their actions. He should have brought Weeden in. Romo was complete garbage in the 1st half. Any other player would have been benched at least for a few series.
  • Might be time to start phasing Witten out as well. He didn't get much separation today. You can say he played against good SF LBs but I noticed the same thing in preseason. 2014 could be the end of an era.
  • The defensive secondary is complete garbage. No surprise there. The Cowboys are horrid in zone coverage. Might be time to just go straight man-to-man.
  • I though McClain did okay. He was strong in the run game and played with attitude. Durant was a complete joke. Missed tackles and INTs.
  • Claibust was.....well, he was here as Marinelli put it. Dude shows absolutely no awareness. He can't read a WRs route to save his life. Hopefully we move on quickly from him after his rookie contract is up.
  • Carr got ate up as well.
  • Overall the defense did okay...better than expected. We gave them 14 easy points following turnovers. I'm still not optimistic though because I'm fairly certain SF could have put up 45 if they wanted too.
  • I predicted 6-10 heading into this season and that's exactly how this team performed

Im not sure 6-10 is attainable if this is the Romo we have for the season.

Statistically, Brady had a worse 2nd half than Romo. That's bad.

If Romo plays poor and the Cowboys lose to Tennessee...hoo boy, that'll be entertainment.

Romo. You put Foles on this team with this coaching staff, he'd be a disaster. Im
