The Great Police Work Thread

Are they going to flush the evidence of "Murder, rape, child molestation, etc." down the toilet???
You knock you identify yourself you wait a couple of seconds and if there's no answer you break the door down.
We should just put it in a judge's hands. Make a set of standards where it would be deemed acceptable and when the judge signs a warrant, he can also sign an order that a no-knock entry would be necessary based on the severity of the case. Not all suspected murders or rapists would need this treatment, but someone who's successfully avoided police for whatever reason it would be helpful.

They should also make a law that if the police fuck up and no knocks the wrong house and they get blown the fuck away, there will be no prosecution.

Anyone suspected in a major crime who might be on the run. Murder, rape, child molestation, etc. There are still plenty of instances where it could be advantageous.
I can get that for taking down a fugitive. They've already demonstrated they aren't interested in surrendering so taking them by surprise makes more sense than letting them choose fight or flight. I can dig that. If the exigent circumstances surrounding the warrant are related to safety rather than just evidence I don't have a problem with that warrant getting signed. Unfortunately, now we're out of disagreements. I'd better go learn about minor league baseball so I still have a thread to post in.

You are correct of course but that is the results of total polarization circumstances these days. Objectivity and reasonable problem identification takes a back seat to mud on the wall and non contextual presentations. I suppose sometimes the process is so deep seated that the search for suitability is no longer the thing to be achieved. When this happens it's just a Donnybrook of words and diatribes.
Added. This can apply to either side of a disagreement.
Yep.

Just go in with the mindset that Joey Gallo is the baseball equivalent to Bobby Carpenter. That'll liven things up.

What the fuck, can you repeat the bolded part again?

I think it has a lot to do with the politics of today. Both sides say the exact same thing, so we are left with weighing their emphasis in order which side of an issue they come on.

Ask a republican or a democrat if they are for protecting minorities and they will both day yes. But it is democrats who will hit that plot point at the beginning middle and end of their speach. Letting you know that democrats are pushing this and republicans are just trying to make sure thy dont alienate any one with a non pc answer. This leads us to use the process you pointed out above, which is great for wading through a politicians bullshit to see what he really means, but it is not so good for rational debate and problem solving.

Stated this way. The process of polarization sometimes becomes more important than finding a suitable solution to the actual problem. It's more important to maintain your position than doing your job.
