If nothing at all is interesting to you then maybe its just not your cup of tea, but from noticing shows you have liked in the past I think you will enjoy it once things start picking up.
Yeah, I get that. I might need to just give it a shot.

But I am funny about show beginnings.

If the shit doesn't knock me down right off the bat, it is tough for me to move on.

Yeah I am the same way, the realism of the wire is what hooked me I lived in Baltimore and they got that city just right.

I think Omar starts to make his presence known in episode 3 and he is worth watching the series alone.

Well, shit. You just spoiled it for me.

When does that happen, I can't remember how many episodes in that was.

But yeah season one is much better on the rewatch.
I just went back to check and Wallace died in episode 13. I could've swore it happened sooner.

Booze, stop being a little bitch and just watch the entire first season and then go from there, and once you're done with that get back to us. It's the best show of the past 15-20 years, and maybe more than that but I can't really talk about shows from when I was like 2 years old.

Trying real hard to get into The Wire.

Have tried to watch the first two episodes and I have fallen asleep three times. Had to watch the first episode twice and did not make it past the first ten minutes of the second.

Just not grabbing my attention beyond the fact that it has a ton of Oz alumni in it.

Does it get better? I have seen you people raving about it.
Oh fer Fuck sake Booze, you will literally complain about anything.

Honestly, not one person (myself included) would tell you season 1 is either the best or second best of the series. There's a lot of great stuff down the road. But season 1 is still great. I want to say I maybe had a similar attitude when I started it, but once the first assumed main character dies, it took off for me.
Season one from episode one, got me. Only the last season lacked.

I have given Halt and Catch Fire on AMC 5 shows now, it's basically rubbish. Same with Low Winter Sun. So AMC does not have a midas touch. Won't be watching either show again.

Cool...despite both Carl and Simp ragging on me, glad to see I am not the only one who felt that way.

3 and 4 are the best, then 1 and 5 are a tossup for third, and the 2nd is likely the worst.
I think I have posted this before, and I know I am in the minority, but for me it's 2, 3,1,4 and then 5. No one has ever agreed with me anywhere. I love that show.

I would say 3, 4, 1, 2, 5...but none are bad. I'd out season 5 up against the best seasons of most shows and love it.

I admit I must've been off on the time frame. The characters death I was thinking of doesn't happen til basically the end of the season and I know it didn't take me that long to be hooked. Maybe 5 or 6 episodes after I could completely see the personalities of some characters which were a little slower to develop.

I have been trying to get someone new in my life into the show; and I watched season 1 episode 1 again; and I was more engrossed (and engorged) than her and by her. (hope this reads properly)

Started Penny Dreadful on the dvr. Pretty damn good so far. Eva Green puts on a master's class in acting in the second episode.

One episode into Hannibal on Amazon Prime. Really good show. The Will Graham character is a little overwrought, but the dialogue isn't as pedestrian as the standard criminal profiler show (Criminal Minds).

And, good Lord, have network tv violence standards been relaxed. Cutting up and sauteeing human lungs? Jesus.

‘Better Call Saul’: Cast, Timeline Details and New Photos

July 11, 2014 | 05:38PM PT

Whitney Friedlander

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, creators of AMC’s upcoming “Better Call Saul,” shared details on the new cast members who will be joining “Breaking Bad” alums Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks in the Emmy-winning show’s highly anticipated spinoff series.

As was previously reported, Michael McKean will play Chuck, Rhea Seehorn will play Kim, Patrick Fabian will play Hamlin and Michael Mando will play Nacho – all characters that will represent both legitimate and illegitimate sides of the law.

“McKean plays Bob’s brother,” Gould confirmed. “We have these two comedy legends working together. He’s playing Saul’s brother. He’s one of the main characters we’ve introduced. He’s just a tremendous performer and he also answers questions about ‘Spinal Tap’.”

The duo were mum about other character descriptions, although in regards to Seehorn’s character and the inevitable comparisons to Anna Gunn’s Skyler White, Gilligan said he “will never write less-than-perfect women again.”

“Rhea, she is just as cute as she can be and just a wonderful funny actress and capable a great deal of depth,” Gilligan added.

AMC also released two new photos, shown here, and noted in the press release that the show is a prequel — possibly putting aside speculation about the show’s flexible timeline.

“It is period,” said Gilligan, stating it takes place in 2002 and adding that “we tried hard on ‘Breaking Bad’ to try not to be too specific where it is.”
Still, he later teased, “you saw on ‘Breaking Bad’ that we like nonlinear storytelling.”

As previously announced, “Breaking Bad’s” Gilligan directed the first episode of the series, which has already been greenlit for a second season of 13 episodes.

The debut season, which will consist of 10 episodes, will premiere in 2015 — later than expected, for which Gilligan says he takes responsibility.

“We have a way of doing things that is slower than most TV shows,” Gilligan says. “We want to think everything through and we feel that that pays dividends.”

“Better Call Saul” is executive produced by Gilligan, Gould, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein with “Breaking Bad” alums Thomas Schnauz and Stewart A. Lyons as co-executive producers for Sony Pictures Television.
