Don't expect anything from the draft's first five rounds for the next 6 years.
Sure.

But then again, that's what people said after they took Smith in the first. No way we'll take another one high... Then again this year. NO WAY we go OL high again after taking Smith and Frederick...

And now we won't take one in the first five rounds? Ok.

Excellent depth pickup and I wouldn't even be shocked if he started for us. I assume Martin is our swing tackle so these depth signings at OG make sense.

Free be free. He actually rebounded nicely last year; still a liability I think.
That kid is a complete mystery. A good season followed by a horrible season followed by a very good season. I have stopped making predictions regarding Free. No idea what he will do this year. He looked much better last season. Better play in the middle has helped the entire line. I am praying our first round G is as good as the last two first round OL picks.

Who was saying "No More!" after Tyron was drafted? If anything most people were saying we needed more. When the OL basically shat itself from 2011-2012 it was clear the team almost had to have another starting OL in 2013 when Frederick was drafted and everyone predicted Jerry would take an OL.

The guard depth has been bad since forever and so Martin's selection is not a surprise either, that coupled with his being BPA at pick 16.

But now there is depth and solid starters across the board, much like the DL after 2006.

Based on past history, once we're "set" Jerry will steer clear of the position in the draft. Before this FA signing you couldn't claim the team to be set up front.

Now you might add a swing OT, but the team is fine where it is. I pray for continued churn as guys like Free leave and Leary wears down, but Jerry given his history will look for shortcuts.

Clearly you missed the point...people were saying we wouldn't because we just had spent a first on an OL.

But such obvious gaping holes still remained that even Jerry couldn't be stupid enough to ignore the position again. I don't recall anyone saying "Jerry's done with OL in the 1st round". If anything, he drafted back to back high OL before like he did with Adams and Page and Gurode and Johnson.

But the DL once satisfied in 2006 he clearly left alone, preferring homegrown depth like Stephen Bowen and Remi Ayodele and FA band-aids like Olshansky.

:lol

He actually might have helped, had they drafted him in the 3rd round and shifted to a 3-4...

He should have thought about that before his 2010-2012 lines got Romo into his current health crisis.
He was set. Kyle Kosier, Andre Gurode, Marc Colombo, and Leonard Davis' contracts told Jerry he had the best OL in the NFL, and in Dallas the contract is king.

I wonder if Jerry has wasted more money in bad NFL contracts than he ever made drilling oil.

What was his excuse for replacing Gurode and Davis with guys like Costa and Nagy?

Asides from a ridiculous inability to scout offensive linemen, a low IQ, an innate need to gamble on the health of overweight veterans, a lack of cap smarts, general butt-love-based loyalty for his players, a drive to find "diamonds" in the ruff of undrafted free agents so he can look like a genius later, and the lack of any good offensive linemen in the first three rounds from 2000-2010 born Libra I can't think of any.

That pretty much sums it up.
