Feh. The Knicks have all the money in the world...they could have paid it without blinking. He just did not want to go to a lesser job.
I don't think it's an affordability issue, I just think it was not wanting to commit so much to someone who doesn't have anything to prove he's the right choice. At least now if they go with Marc Jackson he's got a track record other than as a play by play guy.

Jackson didn't have experience though and he was real good in GS. If that is the guy they wanted and they let him slip away over one more year, then they failed. They are talking about Lue now.

Jackson didn't have experience, but it was Golden State, not the Knicks. Big difference in stature and fan patience with the process.

Plus I seriously doubt he got $5M a yr.

The point is, if they wanted Kerr, there was no reason not to get him. They still think their name is attractive and the added bonus of coaching under the nose oh Jackson. As soon as any coach struggles at all everyone in the NY media will be clamoring for him.

Despite most (including me) thinking that the disastrous Pacers wouldn't even make it out if the 1st round, they've battled back to make it all the way to the ECF's and they did so while holding home court advantage.

I don't think they'll bounce back enough to beat Miami, but at least it'll be somewhat interesting. It'll be a much tougher and better series than what we would've seen with Atlanta or Washington, and it'll at least provide some resistance to waft looked like a joke of a road to the finals for the Heat.

Indiana matches up well with Miami so it should be somewhat interesting but Miami will win and the only reason Indiana made it out of the first round is because the Eastern conference is the weakest it's been in perhaps the history of the league.

Indiana would not have beaten one single Western conference playoff team in a series, nor would any of the other Eastern teams not named Miami.

WGAS about how weak the East is...a West team needs to beat Miami or they will once again be the inferior conference.

Whatevs.

One team doesn't make up for a conference full of garbage.

Nobody will remember that in years to come. The East was super weak during the Bulls last 3 championships and nobody takes anything away from them. The Knicks were old, the Pacers were getting old and Charlotte was on it's way to losing the only good team they ever had.

But all people ever remember is the Bulls beating future HOFers in the Jazz in the finals.

You guys can always print out ESPN Power Ratings where OKC was ranked #1...put that in the rafters, sure as hell is not going to be a championship banner.

Doesn't mean anything when it comes to Miami, I'm pointing it out more to show that I still think Indiana is a joke.

I bet the East would be like the best conference ever if Derrick Rose was 100%.

No one cares how they win, just that they win. The Heat are vulnerable this year, but I still think they win it all.

Harris measured in at 6 foot 2 and Gordon 6 foot 7...that concerns me. Give me Young all day with the 2nd first we have.

Hold on. You're listing their height without shoes. Every height you see on tv or read online for NBA players is with their shoes on. Kevin Love is 6'10", not 6'8". Same with Blake Griffin. While Harris is still undersized at 6'4.5", Gordon not so much. He's still a tad small for a PF today's NBA standards, but again he's still only 18 and may or may not be done growing. He grew and inch and a half since last summer. Right now he is at 6'8.75" with shoes.

The thing that sets Gordon apart from all other PF's (except for maybe Griffin) is his crazy athleticism. It's off the charts. He did surpass all of Griffin's testing numbers at the pre-draft combine. His speed and agility testing was better than most guards and wings at the combine. Between Noel, Wiggins and Gordon these guys could defend multiple positions in the NBA and keep their man in front of them. You could throw me at SG and with MCW running the point there wouldn't be a more athletic team in the NBA.

@chadfordinsider
Aaron Gordon just jumped so high they had to raise the vertical jump apparatus.

@chadfordinsider
Aaron Gordon has a 39 inch max vert. Terrific for a player his size.

@chadfordinsider
So Gordon 39", Vonleh 37", Randle 35.5". All good numbers for bigs.

@chadfordinsider
Aaron Gordon continuing to wow. 3.27 3/4 court sprint and a super quick 10.8 sec lane agility drill.

@chadfordinsider
Randle and Vonleh with identical speed and agility scores. Both solid for their position. Gordon clearly the best athlete of the group.

@chadfordinsider
Think its safe to say that Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine were the big winners in the athletic testing today.

If he's there at #10 the Sixers have to take him. This kid with that athleticism, his work ethic and crazy motor is going to be a player. He's one of those players that fights for every loose ball and usually gets it. By the time the 2017-18 season rolls around and he's 22 years old with 3 years of NBA experience he'll be stud.

I did not want Gordon or Harris before...and I still don't. Get Wiggins and Young and be done with the 2 and 3 for years.

OKC is fucked for real with Ibaka out, I can't see how they beat the Spurs without him and whatever minuscule chance they had to beat Miami before the injury is probably out the window now.
