Where are the guys who are going to go earlier than 16 on your list? If Lewan, Clowney, Robinson, Matthews, Mack, Evans, and Watkins are also gone, that's 7. Then your list has another 5 that you said "probably gone" but that's not factoring in a lot of other guys who will go, including a couple DBs, another QB, Ebron, etc.

I would say it's extremely likely that Martin or Beckham IS there.

Frankly I still think ONE of Barr, Donald, or Lewan will be there.

Probably Barr.
This is without factoring a lot of trades but it could easily shake out this way:

1. Houston - Mack
2. Falcons (trade w/ Rams) - Clowney
3. Jaguars - Watkins
4. Browns - Robinson
5. Raiders - Evans
6. Rams (trade w/ Falcons) - Matthews
7. Bucs - Manziel
8. Vikings - Carr
9. Bills - Lewan
10. Jets (trade w/ Lions) - Beckham (he is the hottest name in the draft right now)
11. Titans - Barr
12. Giants - Martin
13. Rams - Clinton-Dix
14. Bears - Donald
15. Steelers - Mosely

So that leaves who? Ebron?

In truth, I am starting to get worried Jerry will do something stupid. In booze's scenario above, St. Louis takes Clinton Dix right before the Bears. I know I have said I don't want to trade up, but if they'd slide to our spot for a 4th and change, they'd still more than likely be able to get him. And we could take Donald before the Bears.

And yes, I know that probably wouldn't be enough.

Somebody hold me.

Just trade down again. This is the perfect draft to do it.
That's not the point though. I am sure we would look into it, but who would be willing to trade up in the above scenario? Someone going to give up an extra pick for Ebron? Maybe Bortles or something but still. If we are stuck, or don't give the pick away for nothing, we could be in no man's land.

You are a sick sadist.

At least my watch the earth burn scenario involves something cool like Manziel.
:lol

Oh, I know. And I'd love the Manziel wailing from some. Particularly from your buddy dbair.

Dbair?

Oh, he'd be a bonus. There are a bunch of guys running around other message boards already gnashing their teeth about Manziel being a Cowboy. The entire Ranch board is freaking shit.

I personally go with Bortles there, or trade down.

The team might go Ealy. I could live with Pryor.

Thing is, I think you'll see a CB or two sneak in there as well. And frankly Ebron could go too.

What you just posted is basically a worst case scenario. Or could only be worse if you had Bortles to the Vikings instead of Carr. There is literally no other arrangement of 15 players going before us that could be worse than this one.

I'd be ecstatic with Bortles and perfectly content with Lee, Bridgewater or Pryor there. Like has been said for weeks, we'll have good options at 16 nomatter how it shakes out.

The time to have done this was last season after not extending Tony Romo.

Do this now:
- Bortles is our 2014 backup (fine),
- Tony Romo is cut at the start of the 2015 league year to avoid an additional 7.5 mil of his 2015 salary becoming guaranteed
- Bortles is the 2015 Opening Day starter
- Cowboys eat just under 20,000,000 in 2015 dead money.

Don't think the team can know Romo is in that bad of shape yet to justify committing to a new QB.

It's tempting, but it's a bigger decision than just taking BPA.

I could be convinced about Barr, still pretty iffy on him converting from 3-4 OLB and the fact he's never extensively played with his hand in the dirt.

Supposedly Marinelli envisions him as another Simeon Rice. Showed him footage of Rice and Peppers during his visit to Dallas.

If that's the case then you can just pencil in Barr in Dallas. The dude has the length and potential. He will need some serious coaching but the potential is there. I can't say I'd hate the pick.

Considering I think the chances are less than 30% he makes it to 16, I can't say I would either.

I would absolutely loathe trading up for him. Or anyone for that matter. Just don't do it.

I don't know, I have seen so much about Barr being a late first rounder, I think odds are pretty good he makes it to 16.

I've never considered him outside of the top 15. Too much of a good fit for a 3-4/hybrid team needing a rusher.

Good fit for Tennessee. Good fit for Arizona if they moved up.

As much as I've campaigned for taking a WR in the first at times in the past, this draft shakes out soooo much better for us if we get a DL in the first round than if we take a WR like Beckham, in my opinion.

Reason being.... there are more WRs I like better in the mid rounds than there are DLs that I like.

1) A. Barr
2) S. Crichton
3) L. Joyner
4) T. Turner
5) J. Huff

I like that better than Broaddus's predictions.

I like it, but I don't think Huff makes it out of the 4th round.
