It was cotton bales not hay bales. They will tip over fairly easy if you and a friend sit on one bale and both of you put your feet on another outside bale and push. The alignment needs to be where the pressure is applied to the wide side of the bale. The leverage factor needs to be where several bales are behind you to keep the bale sitting on doesn't tip backwards. The friend was Billy Lee Robison.

One time when I was a senior in high school I'd left a folder in my car and had to leave class to go get it.
