Then actually you are the one that sides with JJ.
So? it's my position and if he has the same so be it but I think Jones is more to QB that you will loose to someone else and that aligns more with your strategy.

Regardless, we need to draft a qb.
And I agree but not just a project for the sake of having one in the draft every year. To me when you go after that position it should be a a plan not a project.

I don't get this line of thinking at all. We draft projects every year...so why not draft a project for the most important position on the field. Somehow a project DB or OL is OK, but a project QB is not. Last year in particular we drafted two projects in Wilcox and Webb. I think people are spoiled by seeing all these other teams have their QBs play right away...it doesn't have to be that way, you can still groom a guy.

How many project QBs has Dallas drafted with any success? I think chances are better of developing running backs or DBs more so than a QB. Also project players at other positions can play on special teams but not a QB.

But...but they will never see the field.

At least the other projects can play special teams until they pull a hamstring.

It's not OK to draft a project at any position. Losing teams draft projects. Winning teams draft players who fit their schemes.

Yes it is...a project is someone you develop with an eye towards the future..like a QB of the future. Winning teams draft projects...Julius Thomas is a great example.

By the way, as far as Kafka is concerned I was never very high on him. I thought the Eagles drafted him too high and I've seen nothing during his NFL career to suggest otherwise.

With that being said I have no problem working the guy out. We really liked him at one point or another so we might as well bring him in for a closer look. We are going to take 4 QBs into training camp and with Romo recovering right now we could probably use the extra arm. No reason to be pissy about this news at all.

Mike Kafka signs with Bucs, not Cowboys
February, 10, 2014

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- After working out for the Dallas Cowboys last week, quarterback Mike Kafka has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Cowboys had interest in Kafka last June when they put a waiver claim in on him following his release from the New England Patriots, but he ended up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who also claimed him.

The Cowboys believe Tony Romo will be ready for the offseason program after late-December back surgery, but they want to have at least three quarterbacks on the roster with the expanded rosters when the offseason program begins. Kyle Orton is the only other quarterback on the roster signed for 2014 and his future is somewhat cloudy because of the Cowboys’ salary-cap situation and his desire to keep playing.

Last year the Cowboys had Orton, Nick Stephens and Dalton Williams around as Romo recovered from surgery to remove a cyst from his back.

Leading into the Week 17 finale against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys worked out Derek Carr, Tyler Thigpen, John Skelton, Richard Bartel and Caleb Hanie before signing Jon Kitna out of retirement.

This isn't the first time I've seen an article mix David Carr up with his brother.
