I mean, Lawrence has 6 sacks this season. We're going to prop that now? We'd be calling for his release if he was still in Dallas.
We let him go because he was a run stuffer being paid like a pass rusher, not because he was "done." They figured Kneeland would be a cheaper facsimile but they were wrong.

Pretty depressing looking around the league at teams with actual professional NFL structures with brand new coaches just fucking killing it.

Patriots
Jags
Bears

And let’s not forget a not new guy in San Fran that has 12 wins despite so many injuries that would be used to make excuses for a failed season here.

The point is that he's not suddenly better in Seattle. He's essentially what he was here.

And by the way, while he's not massively overpaid there, he still got 3/42/18 guaranteed. That's still an overpay for what he is.

We had a guy like that in McCarthy (remember going 5-1 with Cooper freaking Rush a couple years ago), but management didn't think it was important for him to come back.

Yeah, and that's the type of coaching performance that impresses me. Having the best offense in the NFL with Dak, Lamb and Pickens with the worst defense and going 8-8-1 (If we beat the Giants, which I honestly don't give a shit if we do) isn't exactly a masterful coaching performance. Going 5-1 with Cooper Rush, now that's impressive.

And he didn’t even have complete autonomy either. Imagine what he could have done if he was allowed to choose his own staff?

That's such a good point about the offensive personnel (I'd throw Williams in there as well). Yes they have a great offense overall but it's kind of expected given the players. As you said, just about any offensive coach would have that unit performing well.

Heck, I was just watching one of the hosts from the radio (forget who it was) that was talking about how the cowboys have scored a total of 15 (!) points - 5 Field goals - in their past 3 second halves of games.

That's atrocious and it probably should be noted that they're 1-2 in those games. You could easily make a case that the offense has underperformed as a matter of fact.

Even Kellen Moore (gulp) has his team playing well down the stretch.

but they're worse than all those teams save for the Jets

They're not worse than the Titans. The buccaneers have lost 4 in a row and 7 out of their last 8. Panthers are better but not exactly great themselves.

Maybe, but I don't think he would have made much difference here.
Me either.

Eberflus' scheme and coaching ability is so bad I don't think Lewis would have made a difference.

Even during the occasions where they had guys out there who've logged a ton of reps together over the last few years, there were way too many instances where they looked confused about coverage responsibilities.

Lewis probably would have been out there looking confused like the rest of them.
