What are the chances that Pickens' price tag has gone down? The last two weeks in crucial games he's come up small. It also doesn't help his camp that Dak seems to be developing a rapport with Flournoy.

With the Cowboys having so many other pressing needs on this roster and Flournoy ascending, I don't think it's a given that they'll offer Pickens a $25M+ contract, which is what he'd probably get on the open market.

The more likely answer is that he's just out there guessing and freelancing.
I think he chooses the path of less resistance. He seems to avoid contact at all costs.

I don't have a good feeling about giving him big money now. There are a lot of ups and downs even in good seasons, and his lack of consistency is a deal-breaker for me. I think we could spend that money elsewhere and be better off.

Spreading the money around to plug other holes feels like the right thing to do.

But offense and splashy plays sell tickets. So I could see Jerry prioritizing the offensive skill player over pesky things like DEs and LBs.

Flournoy could end up saving the Cowboys a lot of money if he can finish the season strong.

Well I remember propping Flournoy before the season so at least I was correct in that. He is easily our third best receiver despite them continuing to force Turpin on the field.

I still think Jerry will sign Pickens regardless. Now it will probably be after a franchise tag but is that really saving you any money if you know that you are going to sign him? Dealing with an upset Pickens may not get you any discounts.

I was thinking that, too. Looks like the Detroit game wasn't a total one-off.

But David Moore, who knows Jerry pretty well, was saying before the game yesterday that he is extremely confident that Jerry will bring Pickens back even if it is expensive. He wants to sell it as part of the Micah trade, which he was still getting criticized for.

I’ve completed cooled on signing him or putting the franchise tag in him.

The last two weeks have shown me he can’t be trusted unless he’s the primary target.

FWIW, they did ask him about this and he said it was for getting updates on things from around the stadium, and suggested he was getting an update on Javonte Williams' injury.

Yeah, I was all excited but the last few games where he could run slants uncontested has spoiled the effect.

Don't know what Pickens problem is now. Is it the league has caught on to how Schott was using him and can't adjust?

Is Pickens in bitch mode for whatever reason?

Was it me making fun of Steelers fans on Facebook for trading him for a third?

Who knows?

It's been 2 games. I'm not too worried about Pickens.

Remember when people lost their minds over Lamb for 1 bad game? Good times.

If you are casting aspersions at either WR your focus is wildly astray.
It's not a coincidence that Lamb has put up back to back 100+ yard games, including once in about 2.5 quarters, plus Flournoy's big game.

For a sec, thought Jones CB on the Dolphins that made a great open field tackle was Byron Jones

Can you imagine how much bleaker things would look if you took Williams, Clark and our extra 2026 1 off the board and replaced it with Parsons on a 42ish/year contract with a popped ACL?

DT would still be an absolute mess and we'd be looking at the distinct possibility of playing a good chunk of 2026 without Parsons.
I mean, Quinnen Williams could tear his ACL. Maybe Parsons doesn’t do that here. You can’t justify a deal because a star player got hurt, if that’s the case quantity is always greater than quality.
