There is absolutely ZERO chance of any team turning that trade down. Regardless of what their cap situation was. Parsons AND a first rounder? GTFO. They would have accepted that before Jerry finished speaking.

At most Jerry called the Jets and they said they won't trade Williams, Jerry said "Not even for Parsons and a first?" and the Jets said, we aren't trading Williams for anything.

There is no way we made a serious offer of Parsons and a first. But telling that story makes trading only a first and second for Williams sound awesome.

Agree that Jerry was just talking shit and/or was slightly drunk and got mixed up.

The rumor was that we had wanted Quinnen and a 1 for Parsons, so I could easily see Jerry mixing that up after having a few.

It makes sense that they didn't want Parsons and the new contract he would demand when you are in the tank. Parsons could win a game or two with strip sacks or something.

They made the best tank trade ever acquiring Maxi Smith.
