I can have the conversation that Carter might not live up to the hype, sure.

I can also have the conversation that it takes a while for edge rushers so it's too early to draw conclusions.

I'm absolutely not ready to have a conversation that Ez is a stud in the making. This defense is too shit for me to effusively praise any individual players from it.

I'm hopeful, and I'll leave it at that.

It isn’t too early to decide that #41 is a shitty number for him

He still has some warts but there's enough there to be hopeful/excited, particularly because we now have an elite stud on the DL again for others to feed off of.

All I'm ready for is to say I see promise with EZ that he could become a high level NFL pass rusher. He isn't there yet but he is making the progress you hope to see in a young rookie pass rusher.

Right now he is our best hope at DE for an impact player. I might even be getting close to saying he is a good starting DE. But that's about it. You never know how a guy is going to continue to progress from this point forward. He just needs to keep progressing.

Carter hasn't been as good but it's also a totally different team and situation. And his progression may just be a different curve.

Meh. Reminds me of when James Houston had a two-sack lead on Parsons. Has he been heard from since?
That was like 3 games into the season and was obviously always a ridiculous comparison, it was basically click bait.

This is based on half a season and the regular counting stats also bare out Ezeiruaku being as good or better (right now). He has more sacks, TFL and QB hits than Carter, and was generally considered a likely first rounder who fell.

Jerry is running the team like an elderly man who doesn't have time for a soft three-year rebuild? Yes, we know.
