I know right. I get angry every time I think about how we wasted Baker and Kyler all because Bob and Lincoln hung on to Mike Stoops too long.

Way too long. I have to admit, I was sketchy on BV going into the season but the way this team is performing, I think we've built some momentum. If we keep recruiting well, we'll be fine.

Yeah I was iffy on him as well. This year was a shit or get off the pot year in my mind. So far he's answered the bell.

I just hate that we're probably not going to have Mateer this weekend against Texas. Unless the defense plays out of their minds and creates a few short field turnovers, I don't see a path to victory with Michael Hawkins at QB.

The kid plays way too nervous and fast. He rushes everything....even when he has plenty of time to set his feet and step into throws.

I noticed that, too. He's very impulsive with the ball. And he won't be able to make the same mistakes against Texas. I would game plan to run heavily.

Handful of guys I'm keeping an eye on with our two 1's:

CJ Allen, Arvell Reese, David Bailey, Jeremiyah Love, Keldric Faulk, TJ Parker, Matayo Uiagelelei, Quincy Rhodes Jr., Cashius Howell, Zion Young

Basically all LB's and edge rushers.

Here I will help you out. It should read - David Bailey ( with a trade up into the top 5)

Too bad we couldn't combine this D with the offense we had when Baker and CeeDee were there.
True, but a Lincoln Riley team was never going to have even a good defense, much less a number one.

I know this, I like this style of football so much more. I hated those 47-45 type games even when they were wins.

Dude, they were exhausting. There's nothing worse than watching your team score a td and immediately feeling dread because you know your defense is about to give up another one, probably to the team ranked #112 in the country.

I believe I tried to warn you guys at the time. Just so fun and so damn frustrating at the same time.

I've always liked defense more than offense, so I can't stand that crap. It's repulsive. It's almost not even football to me.

And as 1big kind of said, the end Bob days were the same. OU for decades was known for great defense, even through the Switzer days, so I hated that period. I know this makes me a bad fan, but other than the first years when he obviously did an amazing turnaround, I really wasn't a big Stoops fan and didn't like the last several years of his tenure at all.

Love Bob, but you're right. It was time to move on. At least we got one natty out of the deal.

He's near the top of my list actually of what I think is realistic in the 15-20 range, so there's that.
