There is no more alarming feeling than just doing something as the halftime show is on and the sound of that motherfucker Garrett's voice stops you in your tracks and makes you want to commit homicide.
I feel bad for Notre Dame fans. He's essentially the voice of Notre Dame football on NBC.

The defense still blows. But its promising to see some of the young guys start to show up. You know guys like Shemar James, Loofa, EZ and Houston should get better as the season goes on. You hope Bland and Diggs get better as the year goes on and they sort of recover from injuries. I have no crazy hopes that this defense will be great. But hell this was the first game I thought Fowler started to look like his old self as well.
When we got the big lead, the rushers obviously were beating people right off the snap. But I listened to the Mosley-Werder podcast and they had the Stretch Smith guy on, which is nice because it's always good to hear an actual ex-coach talk and not a media guy. Anyway, he surprised me by saying he gave a lot of credit on the rush to the secondary, because for the first time all year their leverages were correct, unlike most of the year where they were high school bad and the QB barely had to read anything. This made the qb think and hold the ball a count or two.

Now obviously Tootie is terrible and holds it anyway, but still kind of interesting.

I still want to think about if we can get anything for Mazi or Tolbert (though I doubt they'd trade JT). We have to get a functional LB somewhere, and Winfrey is about ready to play and I think could help a little. Any ideas from you guys?

I don't know what the heck happened to Dak last year but he looks like the 2023 guy who finished 2nd in MVP voting. I don't really understand how his pocket presence was so bad last year, and how its now so good again, but here we are. Maybe it's just as simple as being in better shape and feeling more confident in the scheme.
I wonder if last year was a physical thing. I've heard it floated that maybe something was wrong with that hamstring well before it finally popped off the bone. Could be, became you don't hear of that happening to a perfectly healthy athlete. And he does seem to be moving and running better than he has in several years.

Drake Maye is better than Jayden Daniels, that was my opinion going into the draft last year and I think it's starting to show up now that Maye has stabilized and has a solid environment surrounding him.

It was easier for Daniels to acclimate because his legs simplify things and are a floor-raiser, but now that Maye is starting to figure out how the league works I think you're seeing better traditional QB play out of him.
Also he is a Tar Heel

someone dropped the ball yet again this week before crossing goal line. I’d probably drop dead of a heart attack if I were a head coach. I just couldn’t handle that level of stupidity
And they ended up losing the game. To the Titans.

I think he trimmed down too. Changed his eating habits. Less weight it seems was a good idea.

Couple of random things... on the long JW run, watch Tolbert's effort on the "block." He's in the slot. And his man prevents the score.

Damn NFL Youtube restrictions... found some X posts instead.

And on the Ferg screen YD... How often does the LT make a key block on a screen to the right designed to be run outside the numbers? And Flournoy has another key block for the walk-in. Almost like when Steele made the block on the Eagles safety on the long Sanders run (when he fumbled)... is this an Adams thing or is this common? Doesn't seem common to me.

That looks like a TD to me, but I fully support calling it fumble just for how stupid he was.
It does from those angles, but on teevee last night they showed an angle right down the goalline and it did look like he dropped it too early. :doh
