So Jaydon Blue didn't play not because of injury, but because he still needs to get up to speed on a few things. Per Schotty presser.

Blitz protection Im guessing, but also sounds like he needs to practice better and earn it. So those rumors this summer about him and his work ethic or whatever that was were true maybe.

And doesn't sound like it's going to change this week vs Giants.

He could, though. Sometimes players respond to these messages.

Mazi might not be active all year unless there's a rash of DT injuries.

He's clearly behind the starters, Thomas and Toia, and probably even Winfrey once he comes back.
Yeah I think we made Winfrey our injury insurance. Not sure he needed IR, but sort of a way to stash him for now.

Probably so, because Broaddus said he was told he might not make the 53 even if healthy. I guess they do want at least that one big body in Toia, which makes some sense. And it might even make sense in the long run given that he did play the UFL schedule before getting here and maybe could use a little break.

Yea it'd be nice if they just cut Mazi to open a spot once he's ready to come back.

It's a farce at this point, the coaches don't want him on the roster.

Any chance we could get a conditional 7th? Real kick in the nuts not getting any value for him. He truly was a wasted pick.

Given the media chatter about him I doubt it, but who knows, maybe some team wants to take a flier on a guy they liked in the draft.

It's sad that a first round pick is ready to be dumped by year three. But if he doesn't have any rotational value at this point then we are wasting our time. Better for everyone that Mazi moves on. Maybe he will find motivation in a different system with a different coach.
