I agree, a foot shorter would have been perfect. Sadly he wasn't even close to catching it. I'd give him a break if he brought it in and the ground knocked it out. But what I don't get is why the ball kept going right between his hands.

He's not going to because he's an average TE and it makes no sense to not only have extended him, but to do so at that price.

Jerry made some comments back in training camp about bad contracts and yet so many of the bad ones he's handed out were ones he should have known from the beginning weren't great ideas, and this is a perfect example of that.

Terrence Steele and Ferguson aren't bad luck deals that didn't work out for you, they are bad deals, period.

What's really unfortunate about the perfectly thrown deep ball to CD is that it hits him perfectly in stride and when you couple that with the angle he was running at along with his athleticism, it's completely possible that he might have been able to cut just inside of that safety and avoid the tackle and take it all the way to the end zone.

What a terrible loss that was.

But even in the tiny sample we've seen this year, I thought the other night his movement looked so ordinary, pretty stiff. They even said he lost some weight this offseason to get more agility back but it sure didn't look like it to me.

Looking at the game log, Sanders only had 4 carries so it shouldn't be hard to narrow down.

I think this is the carry that started at the 50, and resulted in no gain, when Nolan Smith got the taunting penalty.
