They have to find a way to keep this guy.
Thing with Houston is he isn't just a scrub who came out of nowhere. The guy actually has an 8 sack season on his resume. So I think there is more than just "beating up backups in preseason" to the guy. He had some setbacks in his career and is still young.

You literally can’t go wrong keeping good pass rushers. In a pinch, many of them can also play off-ball, but the reverse is not true.

Our crippling problem is in the middle where we have a highly overpaid and overrated half of one good player at one spot and a fucking waste of space and resources at the other.

We could have had a really good defense had we had leadership that fucking understood basic physics. I expect for us to be ass-raped (again) by balanced offenses in the biggest games. We have literally no way to stop a great running game without guessing and run blitzing.

Pass rushers are great, but become almost meaningless if you can’t stop a rushing attack. At that point you’re left guessing and then you’re on roller skates.

Jerry Jones claims that the Green Bay playoff loss was the worst in his memory, but then does nothing to improve a defensive front that allowed six scoring drives all but uncontested. I am disgusted at where we are two years later

I've literally never seen the words Jimmy Johnson and Overrated in the same sentence. He should be put to death.
Just jealousy, a lot like Jerry, I think.

He saw up close how Jimmy worked thinking "I could do that" without any acknowledgement that Jimmy actually was the one doing the work.

It's true Jimmy's charm helped him crest the waves, but that didn't make him "lucky". Funny how smart guys who work their asses off get "lucky".

The fact that Jones could not say his name clearly did not sit well either.

Jones has his way with agents and the agents are not allowed to have say. When they push back, he gets to his feelings. He likes to think he can salesman wink the player and he can. Not an agent. His current stance to paint money grubbing on the agent is so hypocritical when the whole organization shows how cheap they are because of the pie they must protect.
I finally sat down and watched the Netflix series on the Jones clan. Anyone who’s watched it and doesn’t come away with the same complaints many on this board have harped on is simply lying to themselves.

Jones is a thin skinned narcissist and can’t stand for others around him to get credit. The Cowboys franchise is nothing but his playground that he lucked into buying.
The old wink and smile is something he started in the way back when he was shitting people out of their money as they overpaid for mobile homes and numerous other PT Barnum type BS businesses he conjured up. The guy IS a modern day PT Barnum Huckster parading as a football GM.

The one thing out of the whole series that stuck with me is Jones never really actually talks about winning or taking care of his players. He talks about the soap opera that keeps everyone tuned into the Cowboys and how that translates into money for his little hobby. He also complains about how much money the players cost. A man that cared about his reputation as a real football man would never allow a series like that to air, because the truth is laid bare to everyone watching. Not Jones…he only saw the money.

We will definitely never see a SB as long as that shitbag is alive.

I’m going to copy this to my Facebook and take credit for it. Thanks, Unk.

Over the last week or so I've assumed Guyton would be back for the opener, but if Diggs is already back in practice and they're still a week away from starting the "practice week" for the game (first one will be Sunday), it would seem like Diggs should be able to go in some capacity.

I wonder if they have Bland/Elam play all the snaps when they're in base/2 CB alignments, and then only bring Diggs on for nickel/done with Bland shifting inside. Might be a decent way to ease him in, playing only maybe 40 or so snaps a game for a few weeks.

I bet that's exactly it.

The line is still -7 Philly. I might buy a half point to be safe.
