I'm not sure what to make of the Chiefs this year. The way they rolled over in the super bowl doesn't bode well for their future I don't think. It almost feels like the end to me.

Agreed, they were pretty shitty last year (relatively speaking) throughout the regular season and probably should've been like 10-7 if not for their ridiculous luck with blocked FG's and such.

Their defense should still be very solid but they haven't done much to upgrade or bolster any part of their roster outside of the draft, and Kelce is now a year older, so I expect them to be around the 10-11 win range.

I wouldn't say it's "over" necessarily because they should still compete to go deep in the playoffs, but they aren't the big, bad monster they've been perceived as for the last few years.

The concept of the QB makes the receivers as opposed to the other way around really seemed to be tested for the Chiefs. Guys dropping passes, not getting open and Mahomes wasn't good enough to just will them to success. On top of that their O-line fell apart in the Superbowl. I don't think Mahomes has changed at all but statistically it was one of his worst seasons. Lowest yards per attempt in his career. 26 TD passes to 11 INTs is not as good as he usually is. Under 4000 yards passing for the first time since his rookie season.

I'm not going to say the Chiefs are washed. Their defense I think is still going to perform great. But the offense seems to be taking steps backwards and I don't know that they fixed anything in the offseason. I'd take Pickens and Lamb over any of the WR's on their roster by a large margin. Maybe Worthy becomes what they thought he would when they drafted him but even if he does Kelce is 35 and coming off by far the worst season of his career.

They need some young weapons to step up and show out because the weapons they have been relying on look to be on the downside of things. Even their RB situation is shit. Pacheco was a nice story but it looks like he could be hitting the shitter too. They better hope guys like Royals and Brashard Smith can start stepping into roles right away.

Dart might be a decent bus-driver/game manager type but I think he's going to be very, very limited overall, with a pretty good chance of being a straight bust.

At least he threw a TD, amirite??
Eh this is the time to make mistakes. I'm sure Eagles fans are starting their count of consecutive Hurts throws without an INT. So I won't be too hard on the kid for throwing a pick.

But I still think he will suck in the NFL.
