He's definitely a starting level QB. He's a good QB, very good when he was at peak mobility, but that ankle injury took a lot of that away. And who knows how much more this bad hamstring will take.

Every player in the NFL should want this guy's agent for getting him 60 mil per.
Give me the pre-injury Dak, and I like the chances of the team doing something big in the playoffs. We don’t have that guy anymore…the post ankle injury Dak is a different QB, and we will see what this hamstring injury looks like mechanics-wise for him.

Either way, his mechanics have gone to shit for the most part due to the ankle and that’s his biggest issue. Mobility is his 2nd issue then comes his inaccuracy at times when you can least afford it.

Can you win in the postseason with the guy? Yeah probably, as long as you have A+ players around him. which thankfully this season it appears they do.

It will be an interesting 2025.

I feel like people have been too critical of Guyton. I don't think he was that bad. Certainly he needs to get better but I don't think it was a Mazi level disaster. I'm still pretty hopeful that he works out ok.
He couldn't handle the inside rip move at all. That's where most of his holding calls came from. If he doesn't improve, we might be shopping for another first round o-lineman next year as well.

Yea and he had an obscene amount of penalties towards the end of the year, which I think was probably due to his confidence being shot by being constantly pulled in and out of the lineup.

I'll be concerned if I see him continuously making the same mistakes early this year, but for now I'm optimistic.

And God knows Solari didn't do much to develop him.

But in my opinion we have one of the best OL coaching setups in the league right now, so if it doesn't click for him under this group it never will.
Solari was an old man OL coach and not a great.

Riley will be a shit ton better.

In terms of the future at QB, if we don't make the playoffs this year and/or if Dak looks to be physically diminished I think you have to be aggressive in what should be a pretty strong QB class next year.

I think you could easily see 4-5 go in the top 20, and if we're sitting at 10-12 or so I think it'd have to be a consideration. I'd also consider moving up a bit depending on how things shake out, everybody loves the Arch angle but he's barely played. The guy I'm looking at right now is Klubnik, although obviously you never know how things will play out during the college season.

If Dak looks like the 2021-23 version of himself I would still consider it in the first if someone dropped, but the likely scenario is continuing to kick the can down the road.

Given supply and demand, do you think one could drop into the second round, even though that hasn't been a thing of late.

I think Dak would have to really stink it up before they'd look at another starter type. He's not far from family portrait status.
I agree, though based on last season I think there's a real chance of an even sharper decline than we saw in 2024 as he's a year older. He tore his hamstring off the bone by just running.

We have to get this man a running game, and Ferguson has to step up his game because Dak loves throwing to TE's.

That said, we loaded the offense with OL and skill talent, so the supporting cast has definitely improved.

If we see an even sharper decline, he's done. He wasn't very good last year even before the injury. Maybe he'd have improved as the season went on, but he played almost half the year.

I think more likely than that would be another season ending injury. We saw that at the end of Romo's career when we drafted Dak.
Only thing is, at Dak's age there are only a few injuries they can't fix anymore, at least well enough to collect a paycheck. Backs/spinal cords (like Romo) and concussions are about the only two I can think of offhand.
