They won’t risk Lamb getting hurt on returns. He would be pretty dynamic I would think but no way will Jones go with that.
Wasn’t talking about returns. Was talking about being capable of scoring anywhere on the field.

Of course….they loved his draft evaluation. Shocking. Nevermind he’s been a below average RB for two years. Must have had one of those Cowboys surgeon knee operations.
Funny how now they say, "Knee injuries take time to recover from" when every year they expect guys fresh off ACLs to play the best they ever have.

Yeah but the good news is the kid is only 24 years old and doesn't have much tread on his tires. So either the ACL is totally shot or it's a good signing. That's the way I look at it.

And even if it's shot, he has proven to be a good third down back. Good receiver and great at blitz pickup. He at least has a role.

Let's not kid ourselves though, they could easily sign a guy like Fulton (or re-sign Lewis) for 10/year while also extending Turpin and signing some random backup OG.
Yeah I say it as though saving money on a player means they will sign a free agent of value. The Cowboys don't give a shit like that. No different than Dak or Lamb giving the team a discount would have meant they will spend money in free agency. It's why guys like Dak, Lamb and Turpin get every penny they can and set the market. They know the team won't take the savings and reinvest to get better.

I'm not saying it's shot -- maybe he'll be a little better a couple of years removed.

Just pointing out that every year they act shocked when guys fresh off ACLs struggle at first. Like Steele last year as just one example, or Diggs. I'm sure before the season starts they'll be telling us how they expect Sam Williams to be like a bonus draft pick this year.

DE Payton Tuner signed. I don't know how to post Twitter link. Former 1st rounder not that long ago.
