Reddit is such a woke shithole.

I've been teaching myself to weld lately, and read some posts on there which were fine, but when I saw the front page it was all rainbows and trans flags. Yes, on the welding sub. Unbelievable.

Yes, no conflict of interest here… from Reuters:

The FAA in 2023 awarded Verizon a contract worth up to $2.4 billion over 15 years to design, build and operate the FAA’s new next-generation communications platform.

On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that the FAA was close to canceling the $2.4 billion 15-year contract awarded to Verizon to overhaul a communications system and awarding the work to Musk's Starlink.

The FAA said it has not made any decision on the contract but sources told Reuters the FAA is reviewing the contract.

Which company would be better at it and which would be cheaper? That's all I care about. No offense but everyone in government has a conflict on interest, they all act in what is in their own best interest.

I also don't think Musk determines who the FAA gives contracts to. But I get that you think he is using his authority to get the contract. Personally I think Musk just thinks he can do it better and cheaper.

Yeah Verizon is shit. I actually think they have very predatory billing practices and I don't trust that company at all. That's all I got.

Yep, in 2012, I changed over to them and had unlimited data in the contract. 3 months into it, they sent me an email saying that I no longer had unlimited data and that I had exceeded the new threshold for the previous month and that I owed them $250. I told them to go fuck themselves and that if they could whip my ass, they could have their money.

When I moved into my current house, I had Verizon installed. The previous owner had Xfinity but I had verizon at my old place and just wanted to transfer service.

I had a lot of shit to do the day it was installed into the new house because the moving day was in a day or two, but I had to sit there for literally 7 hours (literally - I'm not even exaggerating) and babysit the installer because Verizon was too retarded and couldn't figure out how to install it correctly. (As an aside, he was Asian and his name was Mao (YES MAO) and I had to pretend I could understand what the fuck he was saying for 7 hours.)

From that point, Verizon had to come back out 3 different times over the next year or so because it kept going out and they couldn't get it back on. So a guy would come out and wrestle with it for a few hours each time and it would be a temporary fix for a few months and it would go out again and we'd have to start back again from square one.

About a year ago we decided to bite the bullet and go with Xfinity (who I hate even more than Verizon by the way), and to their credit, they hooked it up in about an hour and there has been literally zero problems with it since.

Fuck Verizon. They can't handle shit and they shouldn't be anywhere near our public infrastructure.

Citing government contracts isn’t enough for me to call for a halt to absolutely vital searches for fraud and waste.

If Irv was sincere about being a “Reagan Republican,” he would support rooting out this waste and would be welcoming someone doing something about it for once.
