The jury trial for a civil lawsuit against Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is now scheduled for Aug. 11, court records show.

Last week, attorneys for both Jones and the plaintiff appeared in front of Dallas County District Court Judge Aiesha Redmond.

By the end of the hearing, Redmond ruled the trial — which was scheduled for March 3 — would be delayed.

The lawsuit, initially filed in September 2020 before being dismissed and reopened by the Texas Supreme Court, was brought by a South Carolina woman who alleges Jones “kissed her on the mouth and forcibly grabbed her without her consent” in the Tom Landry Room of AT&T Stadium after a Cowboys game on Sept. 16, 2018.

In an affidavit previously filed in the case, Jones said, if deposed, he would testify that he does not recall meeting the woman. He said he did not sexually assault her and called the allegations “categorically false.”

Jones' attorneys requested a new trial date be set at least six months out to allow more time for the pre-trial discovery phase.

The plaintiff’s attorney Thomas Bowers has repeatedly told The Dallas Morning News that his client is ready to have her day in court.
This is the second time in roughly a year that the trial date has been rescheduled. It was set for March 18, 2024, before being pushed to March 3 of this year.

I just got an email from the official Dallas Cowboys that is an ad for a sleep number bed and literally nothing else. Nothing to do with the Cowboys.

This is what they care about. Making money. This is what they've become.

Meanwhile they don't even try to legitimately field a contending team.

Except his pressure numbers were high level for NFL DT's. Which tells you he was impacting the QB up the middle. Which is pretty important if you don't want QB's stepping up and avoiding Parsons.
I think his pressure numbers are enhanced by the general chaos we try to create, and what we are able to do with Micah. I doubt Osa is helping Micah as much if at all.

The pressure I’m talking about is indirect pressure. Forcing an OL back into his own QB, shutting down your running lane allowing nowhere to go with the ball, creating opportunities for the LB behind you and DE next to you.

We had many of the same challenges with Jay Ratliff in 2008. He could knife in and pressure passers, but teams loved to run right over him.

Sucks for Eagles fans, amirite

Thank goodness the only thing Jerruh has picked up from the Eagles is prematurely drafting Quinthy to mimic McNabb

Lurie is also showing how to out-class Jones as an owner.

That's the funny part when you hear idiots defending him, saying he is a "great owner, but lousy GM".

He sucks at both.

Per Albert Breer:

“My philosophy is …” Lurie said, pausing for a second to consider the question. “You’re obviously trying to run a sound business, but I think success is determined by your success on the field and your success in the community. And so anything you can do to maximize those two, the value of the team is going to be appreciated more by your performance and your reputation in the community than anything else. It’s not going to be the EBITDA in a certain year, or two or three or four.

“There’s a reason we just sold limited partnerships for the highest price in sports history. It wasn’t based on being the most profitable team at all. It’s based on the performance over time and the reputation in the community and the forecasting of where we hope to be able to sustain over the next multiple years. It’s much more than the financial bottom line. Now I guess you could get criticized by some Wall Street analysts, but we don’t operate that way. We just don’t operate that way.”

Indeed, Lurie sold 8% of the Eagles in December to two family investment groups, with the valuation of the franchise coming back at $8.3 billion. That meant Lurie got $664 million, or roughly three-and-a-half times what he paid for the entire team in 1994, for a small percentage that, as he sees it, will allow him to continue investing back into the team.

Completely outgunned and outmanned everywhere by that organization.

I really wished that these shitheads would be forced to answer why instead of given leeway to give excuses. Instead we are just given verbal diarrhea.
Well um see, eventually that money comes due. And you can't just eat all the pie now, you need pie for later. And they know the future of the cap, so they know the size of the pie in the future. They just know more than us, must trust their advanced knowledge of the future.
