They'll spend but it's a million times easier in baseball with no cap and no need to manipulate the books to be able to spend more.

Plus, doesn't Magic own like 2% of the team, and bought in years ago? I kind of doubt they're doing everything different lately because of him.

They're an 8ish win team that has had all the stars align to turn them into a feel-good story that the surface-level fan thinks is amazing. And then when they go 8-9 next year everyone will freak out over "what happened?"
They've won 5 games in a row on the last play of the game, they have about 8 wins against teams in the top 10 of the draft, and they have literally the highest 4th down conversion % in the league over the last 40 fucking years.
That is quite literally the definition of an outlier/"regression to the mean" type team.
They may end up being one of the best run teams in the league over the next decade, nobody really knows, but this particular season is basically a case of an average team having an unbelievable run of luck.

But yeah, I think they're in the honeymoon period right now. They'll get stomped by Detroit, then they can have the fun of trying to advance deep into the playoffs, which is a lot tougher than going from a wreck to a decent team.

Somewhat, but it wasn't as extreme as the situation with the Skins.
The Eagles were getting lucky and it caught up to them late in the year, but they were at least a legitimate 10-11 win team who was getting lucky to beat other legit teams like the Bills and Chiefs. The Skins to me are a 7-8 win team who have played the softest schedule in the league while also having a ridiculous run of luck.
Their first win against a playoff team was last night.

I don't know, I kind of like Stafford's experience in big games. He might not be as good for 17 games, but for one game maybe.
I guess I still can't believe Darnold is any good.
