Turns out he is pretty good. All hate aside, I doubt that was the reason he was drafted. More like a cheesy talking point after the fact. I’m sure he was brought up. Maybe the scouts took a closer look because of it. Who knows? But if just the locker/knowing him was the reason, I’m sure he’s known other players, too. Why didn’t we draft them?
Bad example, as he was turning into the star of the D before his injury.Yes.
Maybe the one grandkid is a good scout?Bad example, as he was turning into the star of the D before his injury.
His closing speed is somehow faster than Micah's and his awareness is the best we've had at LB since Leegro.
Maybe there is some hope with the Jones grandkids.

Too much optimism bubbling. Where's DFDC?Maybe the one grandkid is a good scout?
Baulding's cousin > Will McClay
It's been around for as long as I can remember but I forget the exact rules that allow you to do this. I know it involves a fair catch and you get a free kick at that spot.
What is this free kick bullshit?
I must be losing my mind. I don't remember that at all. It's been around for as long as I can remember but I forget the exact rules that allow you to do this. I know it involves a fair catch and you get a free kick at that spot.
It doesn't happen very much at all. I remember the Cowboys did it once in a preseason game in the past and that's really the only reason that I know about it.I must be losing my mind. I don't remember that at all.
The rule states that a team may attempt a kick on an untimed down after fair catching a punt. It is similar to a kickoff in that it cannot be blocked by the opposition, but unlike a kickoff, a tee may not be used which increases the difficulty. If successful, it is worth 3 points like a field goal. If unsuccessful, the other team takes over from the spot of the kick. What is this free kick bullshit?
Yeah, if you try it from say your own 40 and miss. I guess the other team gets a chance to kick from that same spot? Didn't know that. The rule states that a team may attempt a kick on an untimed down after fair catching a punt. Pretty rare when the stars align for this. Mainly because of that last line.

If I remember correctly, the last one I saw involving the Landry Cowboys was the 1986 preseason game vs Houston. Septien missed it with no time left and they lost.I remember Landry did that once in I think one of his last years. I'd heard about that rule but never actually saw one until then. It's just rare for the situation to be right for it to ever come up.
