I thought he played really well yesterday.

He's getting better but going forward I think you can only look at him as a decent backup who is found money if he becomes anything more than that. I'd keep him on the roster moving forward though, as long as he's on a rookie deal, which is more than I can say for him as of about a month or so ago.

I've been saying this for a few weeks now but I think Golston deserves a new deal, somewhere around $4-5M/year most likely. It wasn't just the INT yesterday, he's been really solid all year against the run and as an interior rusher and it's important for us to keep guys who can play the run and set the edge with physicality.

He has a different style than Armstrong but I think he is close to being a similar caliber of player (i.e. borderline starter, good rotational type), and if we can lock him in for a reasonable deal like we did with Armstrong after his rookie deal ended it'd be smart.

Same goes for Osa, although he'll be more expensive, but he's been very disruptive even if it hasn't shown in terms of sacks. 13 QB hits is a big number over 11 games on a team that's usually behind by double digits and I'd hope we could resign him for something around $8M/year.

Yesterday it was nice to see that the D has some complimentary pieces in place and with an aggressive FO could really flip a switch in 2025.
Still need a real RB, DT, another WR, and most importantly a QB.
Won’t point out the obvious about any of the above happening.

Most importantly….how did the Commanders win 7 games??

Yesterday also proved that Dak never should’ve been re-signed.
Obviously Rush is nowhere near the top quarterback in the league, but the guy plays mistake free, he doesn’t wait until receivers or tight ends are open to throw the ball, and he knows how to move around just enough in the pocket without spazzing out to get the ball down field. He also does a great job of finding the open guy.

Lots of luck and terrible opponents early on.

They won the Bears game on a hail mary, obviously that's a loss 99% of the time, and beat the Giants at home on a last-second FG because the Giants kicker got hurt early on and they had to go for 2 every time. Nabers also dropped a wide open, routine pass on 4th down late in the game that would've sealed it for the Giants.

So they've beaten the Giants twice, the Browns, Panthers, Bengals, Cardinals and Bears (hail mary). That's 4 wins against the literal worst teams in the league, one hail mary win, and two respectable wins against the Bengals/Cardinals, who are only .500ish teams.

Once the schedule stiffened a bit they lost 3 in a row, they should be 6-6 at best, although I'd argue they're closer to a 5-7 type team.

What if gutsy performances the rest off season gets Fat Mike extended?
I actually don't dislike McCarthy. I think he is a good coach. I think this season was set up for him to fail.

It won't get him an extension and his time here has probably worn out but I think the guy did a good job in Dallas given the ownership situation handcuffing him.

I think we'd have to make the playoffs and win a playoff game for that to happen, which would mean either winning out or only losing once more the rest of the way.

Highly unlikely, and honestly if McCarthy can pull that off with a backup QB, a RB who wouldn't start for any other team in the league, plus another 4-5 starters out at any given time, he might deserve a 2 year extension.
