When you boil it down, she was a Hail Mary when the Dems saw that this could happen to Biden. They tried switching him out and selling her as different (and of course non male and non white) at the last minute but it didn't work.

I'm just glad the influence of the MSM is almost dead and the lies of the Yahoos of the world don't work anymore.

I’m sure if we went back 4 or 5 months or post primary in this thread, we all mostly nailed this election, but we’re always a little worried we’d see 2020 shenanigans.

Had SCOTUS not overturned Roe, the GOP victory would have been even wider. It allowed the DNC to endlessly demagogue about Republicans reversing "reproductive freedom." Every attack ad against Republican candidates in my area (Maryland and Virginia) mentioned this.

I’m curious, is there things Trump could do that would leave you actually thinking his second term was a success?

Pure curiosity. You both have your reasons to dislike him, and that’s cool. I’m just wondering if there are a handful of things you’d like to see that could leave you actually looking back fondly on a second term.

Honestly, the only thing that I’ve ever been focused on with him (and have said here repeatedly) are twofold:

1. Stop raising my taxes, and eliminate the cap on SALT deductions in his tax plan, as that caused a massive tax increase for me.

2. Stop banning anything 2A related, and stop empowering the ATF to make its own “laws” and bypass Congress.

Nothing else mattered to me. He’s an asshole, but I can overlook that easily if he’d stop stealing my fucking money. That’s why I refused to vote for him.

Eliminating those God awful tariffs would be helpful as well, not adding more of them, as they’ll result in a 20% price hike on many things.

I hope this serves as a learning experience for the Democratic party.

Maybe next time, they'll focus on putting forth a serious candidate and one who will target people of intelligence and not go after the low-hanging fruit by inviting celebrities like Lizzo and Jennifer Lopez to perform or speak on their behalf at their events.

I'm not surprised by how poorly she performed and I think that is in large part due to the fact that a lot of the American public felt insulted by how that party, and the Biden administration specifically, operated throughout the course of 2024.

They don’t have anyone, nor will they have anyone. Maybe Shapiro out of PA-probably the strongest candidate they’d find that would potentially protect the Blue Wall. Shapiro though is another leftist Dem who morphs into a Moderate Dem when he needs a win.
But this electorate is rapidly changing…AA men, Latinos, young voters who obviously don’t like being gas lit and hate liars. It’s only going to get worse for the Dems until they chase out the leftist socialist dividers.

I like our roster better, though.

Whitmer and Newsome have zero chance of winning a presidency in any of our lifetimes. Americans were pretty clear what they expected last night, and it’s not that much different than what my grandparents voted for 50 years ago.
Whitmer nor Newsome stand for any of that….not sure Shapiro does either.
