And those tensions manifested from almost the start of this short campaign, in the internal wrangling over who Harris should pick as her running mate. The case for Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro was strong, and not just because Harris’ brother-in-law Tony West was telling her they looked like the future of the Democratic Party together, and that the popular governor would make sure she won Pennsylvania. Right-wing media types weren’t the only ones who noticed how much Shapiro had made himself into an Obama clone, as much a Jewish guy from the Philadelphia suburbs could be: The Obama alumni suddenly rushing onto her campaign were pushing for Shapiro.

Harris liked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, though. She liked his line about Republicans being weird. She liked the way he came off as easy and unassuming. She liked the way they’d gotten along in their interview, including his very open stress that he would mess up in a debate with Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance. And she liked the way Walz had been so deferential to however she would define the job for him.
She specifically picked Walz over Obama's advice, because Walz was a loser who wouldn't challenge her or make her look bad. :lol

If that's not everything in a nutshell about this fake, empty suit, manufactured, never done anything by herself, slept her way to the top, DEI hire.

Of course, she probably had well-founded self esteem fears that Shapiro would upstage her, because, well, he would have, and because she just became the nominee herself by stabbing her boss in the back, so, she needed an non-threatening schlub.

The Democratic Party will now have to come up with someone dynamic and not rely on the same weak shit they do when it is clear that they really don’t have any integrity. The average person does not care about the agendas they have pushed since the Obama Administration.

Shapiro would have got her Pennsylvania.

Womp womp, dumb asses.

It will be such a beautiful thing if this pushes the Obama agenda to the dustbin of history.

I doubt it will, though. They'll probably just double down and think they need to message better.

Shapiro, Whitmer, Newsome.

I like our roster better, though.
This is like trying to figure out who the top pick is going to be in the draft 3 years out, you have some educated guesses but randos like Burrow pop up almost every year.

The Democrat who just won the Arizona Senate race should probably be on the list too.

When you couple that with the way they used fear-mongering as a tactic by pushing this rhetoric out that Trump is the next Hitler and how he's going to turn us into the next Cuba, to blatantly lying to the American public for roughly 2 years by carrying on that charade the Biden was as mentally fit as ever when he clearly was in cognitive decline, to just pushing Harris forward with no real process for selecting the best candidate -- I think it all just added up to what we saw on Election Day in that the average person was just really turned off by what that party was selling over the last few years.
Maybe they will focus on their own policies a little more next time. They have gone too extreme for that to work so maybe they will come closer to the middle going forward.

At least next time maybe they will have a real primary.

It will be interesting how they handle the butt hurt of getting beaten and somehow avoid the temptation to start rhetoric that she lost because she is a woman or especially a woman of color.

She lost because she was never truly elected by the people to be a representative of the party and had zero pull on independents because she could not speak on the policies.
