It would not be a stretch to say that Mahomes is the only "elite" QB in the NFL, right? The next tier would be Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson(?), Joe Burrow(?)... then a whole bunch of guys fall into the "could be successful given the right circumstances" group, and there's the "they look like part, but it's too early to tell" group, and finally the "should be a backup" group...

the most troubling part, how many teams started the season with a member of that last group as their QB1?

What nobody really talks about is that their defense is (and has been) one of the best in the league the last few years, and that is the unit that really got them their last two SB wins.

Mahomes puts on the cape for a few drives a game so he gets all the credit, but if they had only an above average defense I don't think they would've won either of the last two SB's. They are a truly elite unit and nobody talks about it because of Mahomes.
