I'm all for it. See what the kid has. Get his feet wet. I know he actually displayed some impressive skills in preseason at the end. The NFL is a big stage, start getting him comfortable now even if he makes some mistakes.Flournoy time.
There was that TD catch in preseason where he broke the defenders ankles and was wide open. I just sort of remember that and think, maybe this kid can be both big and a good route runner? Or maybe it was just a scrub defender. Who knows. But what's the harm in trying? If nothing else, start getting Flournoy's feet wet on special teams. He's big and fast enough that he should be good at it.
I mean realistically you don't even need your practice squad guys. You have 6 WR's on the roster. Flournoy hasn't been active all season. Just roll with letting him be active on game day and you're good. But I guess Cropper is on the practice squad as well. Not sure who else at WR. Cropper had a great camp but shit the bed in preseason. I think I prefer the guys on the roster to some sort of promotion off the practice squad. Guess the other practice squad guy is Kelvin Harmon. But he is 27 and I don't really see much to be happy about with him.
Flournoy time.
The absolute dumbest people.
When Lamb has the longest carry from scrimmage, Fat Mike just wants to give them the ball more.
Correction - these are the absolute dumbest people.
So who needs the ball more? Dowdle at 3.9 YPC, Zeke at 3.4 or Deuce at 2.9? Are more carries going to improve that horrific average per touch? I might get it if a couple of those guys were at 4.5 ypc or something. But none of them are producing. None are breaking tackles, making guys miss, or doing anything that screams, he needs more touches.

His hands are tied, okay. Coach Jerry hasn't given him the okay to make changes to the depth chart. When Lamb has the longest carry from scrimmage, Fat Mike just wants to give them the ball more.
You know at some point I think McCarthy needs to just act like his job and future is on the line. You're not going to have a job in Dallas right now the direction things are heading. And if things get much worse it may hurt your chances of having a job anywhere in the future as a head coach. Why continue to bow down to Jerry? This is a great opportunity for McCarthy to basically say fuck it, if I'm going down, I'm going down doing things the way I want to do them. To hell with Jerry or appeasing certain players. His hands are tied, okay. Coach Jerry hasn't given him the okay to make changes to the depth chart.
It used to be I paid attention to this because some seemed to really hate the Cowboys and some didn't. Now it just feels like every game the Cowboys are the ones getting all the penalties so I stopped paying attention. The crew just doesn't seem to matter to me anymore.
Forecast: Pain.
I want to believe that McCarthy isn't this dumb and instead is just echoing the company message. The absolute dumbest people.
