Beginning to wonder if we'll ever see the old elite Watson again.
Yeah, does this mean they know Watson will play? That's actually surprising given the Browns QB situation.
did you see how the Browns org worked his monstrous contract to end up with the most salary cap space in the league?I highly doubt it.
They're dumb?I don't understand why they'd do that. Doesn't this tie them to him even longer? I'd think they'd want out ASAP.
Not really, if they don't spend the money it really makes no difference.I don't understand why they'd do that. Doesn't this tie them to him even longer? I'd think they'd want out ASAP.

I'm sure you will for week one anyway.Beginning to wonder if we'll ever see the old elite Watson again.
They are moving money around to make up for that poorly structured original one. You will likely never ever see a contract that bad ever again.I don't understand why they'd do that. Doesn't this tie them to him even longer? I'd think they'd want out ASAP.

He’s not.I thought he wasn't going to play week 1?

Hard to say, maybe they are gearing up to spend big next offseason. Or maybe they just like having extra flexibility. Either way, it has zero impact until they go on a spending spree.I'm assuming they're spending the money (even if it's next year, since they can roll over the cap space) otherwise why do it?
All they are doing is giving themselves the cap room now that they would instead have 1, 2, 3 years from now.
Huh. Just a few days ago they said he wouldn’t be ready. Go figure.Apparently he's supposed to play.
