Not to mention she didn't say college was ever cheap. What she really said is that the government subsidized it. That's a very different thing than it actually being cheap. Which by the way, student loans are just a way of subsidizing college and then making people pay it back later. Most student loans are government loans.

I think the real question comes down to why does college cost so much. Should it really costs 60,000 a year for a student? Especially not some of these majors. I mean if you're getting a liberal arts degree, why the hell does it costs $60,000? Welding school is pennies on the dollar and at least at the end of that you have useful skills that you didn't have before.
