the asthma guy
The honest thing is that the asthma guy was a complete dork.

I saw the interview with that guy and it seemed like it was the old days when Gil Brandt would have a literal cattle call.

I figured he wasn't a holdover from the '88 team. Always wanted to know who was on Irvin's "get rid of these guys because they're only in it for the paycheck" list.

Sardinia?

In February 1989, Manca signed with the Dallas Cowboys, after a try-out at a free agent kicking combine in Reno, Nevada. He would become a part of Cowboys lore during a March mini-camp, when he was required to run a series of sixteen 110-yard sprints with the rest of the team, but needed to rest after the eighth run. Then new head coach Jimmy Johnson confronted Manca, who mentioned he suffered from asthma, although the accounts vary of the exchanged that followed, it was later reported in the media that an angry Johnson replied "Asthma, my ass. The asthma field is over there", while pointing to the parking lot at the Cowboys Valley Ranch complex.[9][10] He was released on August 12.[11]

As much as we all love Jimmy, I have to wonder if the Gen Zers on today's teams would consider him nothing but a corny old Boomer.

Yep. He wouldn't reach them anymore.
