Does anybody actually think we should keep McCarthy?

And I don't want to hear about, "well the GM needs to go, etc, etc", given what we know the reality of this team is, does anybody think McCarthy should be the HC next year?
No

I think you're dead on.

Of the players I heard yesterday, CeeDee was the one who sounded genuinely down and pissed. Dak just gave his usual matter of fact cliched talk in the same tone he does after every game.

I bet during the game CeeDee was thinking "WTF is wrong with this guy? This is bullshit."
That's crazy, if true. He was pouting before the first series was even over.

Absolutely not….again this team has been ill prepared or not motivated for just about every “ big game “ or game of significance…. They still commit foolish penalties…they don’t manage the clock well …play calling sucks …schemes are too old …this has been the script during his tenure and it’s not improved … we are running in place here in Dallas, stuck in neutral if ya will… and we need somebody that knows how to put this car in drive .

The coaches can’t coach because of the circus.

You can say McCarthy has to go but the next coach is gonna have the same problems, probably even worse.

In the search to do anything but address the root cause you are gonna throw the baby out with the bath water.
I get it, but that's the only alternative really. Find a head coach who is good enough to overcome that. McCarthy isn't it. Quinn isn't it. So we try again.

If we want younger and not older retreads or the game has passed them guys what about Ben Johnson?

Not a big Johnson fan, if we went young I'd want McDonald, the Ravens DC.

Im not on the Belichik bandwagon. Give me Harbaugh. He can have sleepovers and stuff and relate to the younger players better. He will still be handicapped by the front office and their views on whats important regarding personnel so not sure he wants to deal with that.

Whatever happened today, CeeDee Lamb knew it was happening from the first drive.

In my Dak hating mind, I believe CeeDee told Dak to get his head out of his ass because he knew Arizon/SF Dak had entered the chat.

It’s weird that it took only one pass for them to start chirping at each other. I wonder if CeeDee can sense that shit days earlier. Like Dak starts acting a certain way. Or maybe it’s like that precursor to a seizure that people get where they know one is coming before it does and they have time to put on a helmet or lay down.
You're probably right because you typically don't see WRs get upset with their QBs until much later in the game.

Why not?

I don't really give a shit who it is, Belichick, Harbaugh, a coordinator like McDonald, Vrabel, but McCarthy has to go on principle alone.

Whoever the next defensive coordinator is needs to get Micah Parsons' ass off the DL full time.

Every year its the same story. He starts the season off fast, then he wears down and isn't nearly as effective the final 6-8 weeks of the season.

It's been 3 years of the same shit. Time to adjust how you use him.

Why not on Belichik? I just think hes done. Think its just going through the motions and I dont want Josh Daniels on my team in any capacity.

He could be refreshed in Dallas. He was in New England a long time. Good point on McDaniels, but we'd get Stephen Belichick, ha.

I'm against Belichick for the same reasons that Smitty mentioned earlier. He still fields decent defenses but he's been pretty bad when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. I assume a coach of his stature would rightfully demand to have final say on his staff, and I just don't trust his judgement in that department.

Harbaugh checks the boxes for the Jones family. He's a big name. He's a winner. He's won at multiple locations. He has a ton of prior coaching experience.

Question is, will they be willing to get into a bidding war for his services.

Harbaugh would be my choice. Not exactly a young guy that I have advocated for, but this team needs an ass kicker and someone to hold everyone accountable (if that is possible with the cancer at the top).
But honestly, there is a rot in this organization that I don’t think anyone can overcome.

I was more saying why not on Harbaugh, rhetorically speaking. Basically I don't care who the replacement is, McCarthy can't be here next year, I think it's inevitable that he'd lose the locker room sometime next season after a disappointment like that.

Belichick and Harbaugh would be at the top because we primarily need someone with the skins on the wall to make the team mentally stronger and foster a different culture.

That's such bullshit. Dak didn't play well, but he doesn't play defense. No excuses for the defense. Get a stop. Don't allow Green Bay to use up half the first quarter and drive down the filed for an easy TD. And even after a turnover and a short field it doesn't have to be a TD. Hold them to a FG. I mean 1st and goal at the 16 and 2 plays later an easy TD. Right then and there we were in big trouble and there was nothing Dak could've did about it because Green Bay scored the next 3 drives.

The air was out of the defenses sails before this game even started.

The defense was awful. No question.

But this notion that there's nothing Dak could do about that? I don't know.

Dak is like 20% of the team's salary cap. How about match the Packers score for score? That's why he's getting elite money.

They want a shootout, give them a shootout. Score TDs on the next 3 drives also. Keep your team in the game. The Packers defense isn't exactly the 85 Bears.

Instead he turtled.

Yeah, hard not to think about investing his salary in other parts of the team so that the next guy is surrounded by as much talent as possible.

Not after yesterday, no.

And it's not even because I'm angry at him for that disgraceful performance, it's more because I can't find any real reason to believe that he can inspire the team to do better the next time around.

Hell, I'm sure doubts are going to creep into his head next time around as well so how is he going to inspire the locker room?

His time here is up.
