We're a really good team, one of the best in the league, but they have to start stepping up in the biggest moments (i.e. 1st and goal on the 6 with 27 seconds to play). You can't have multiple cascading errors, from the stupid designed run that McCarthy called on 1st down that would've been equivalent to a sack, to the false start on Tyler at the exact same time, to Dak taking an idiotic sack that more or less ended the game on the very next play.

We can beat anybody anywhere (except SF seemingly) and can certainly win in the playoffs in Philly against their pass defense, but the team as a whole from the players to the coaches have to start sensing the moment and stepping up, as opposed to making stupid fucking errors when that time comes.

Like yea, the Eagles got extremely lucky on the 3 fumbles, they got a very favorable whistle that probably led to at least a 4, if not 7 point swing in their favor while we didn't get the benefit of many marginal calls, and we'll probably lay it on them pretty good in Dallas, but you have to be razor sharp in the biggest moments and the pathetic clown car sequence once we got down to the 6 will never cut it.

I disagree that we're better. But I do think we're straight up even with them. Don't think I've ever said that after a big game loss. But I honestly think we're ever bit as good as they are.
We're definitely even, the Eagles needed a very favorable whistle, combined with a number of random bounces going their way (all of them going their way) to beat us by a whisker at home.

We might even be slightly better depending on injuries as the year goes on. It just pisses me off that we might have to play them in Philly in the playoffs, if we get them in Dallas I think we'd win by 10-14.

I see us coming out focused and pissed when they come to Arlington

I agree. I don't think we are better overall. I do think at some positions we are definitely better, and they are at others. all in all, they had the advantage today. It was their house. Honestly, you have to be significantly better than the home team in the NFL to win on the road consistently.
They will play in Dallas next time. There is no excuse to lose in our house.

Right, being behind two and a half games is bad enough. We absolutely have to give them a beat down when they come to town. And I really think we take that one.
Lose to them at home, we have a legit problem

One thing I'll say is that these guys can't afford any random lapses in focus the rest of the year like the Arizona game, they can't get high on their horse because they beat the Panthers by 30 or whatever. If you look at the rest of the schedule it's pretty light outside of Seattle, Philly and Detroit (at home), and Buffalo/Miami on the road.

That should be 3-2 at the absolute least, and of course they should handle the Skins X 2, Giants and Panthers.

As long as they don't fuck anything up they should be 12-5 at least, if not 13-4, either of which could be enough to win the division depending on what Philly does against their tough stretch. They have to do everything they can to maximize their chances of getting home games in the playoffs because I honestly don't think anybody would beat us, outside of SF of course.

Yep. I mean, honestly the game plan to beat the Eagles is right there. They did what they had to do in order to win, it just didn't work out in our favor today. This shit happens. I can't imagine a world where the team that won today doesn't lose anymore this year. They just aren't that good. They are definitely a good team, but they aren't good enough to overcome anything not working in their favor.

Yes sir. I don't see them coming out like that again though. At least to me AZ was kind of a perfect storm with losing Diggs right before along with having basically none of the O line guys. Doesn't really completely explain the defense shitting the bed like they did, but that's all I can some up with. SF apparently shot their wad on the cowboys, so at least we got that going for us.

And for the people who were guffawing over insinuating that there could be some sort of conscious design behind the terrible refereeing, that Gilmore penalty is really all you need to see to understand why some people think that.

I've seen at least 5 plays like that happen every week for years and I've never seen such a light PI called on a ball that wasn't even catchable. That call didn't decide the game or anything but it's just so bad and runs against the way you've seen refs call games for years, you can only wonder why?

Pulling a Pettiti, Dak Prescott needs help. The running game has been a huge disappointment and will be our downfall in January

Aside from Jake Ferguson getting involved as of late, it’s all Prescott and Lamb in the passing game and our role players haven’t done shit - Cooks, Gallup, Vaughn, Schoonmaker.

to Dak taking an idiotic sack that more or less ended the game on the very next play.
Not much mention of this but that was absolutely inexcusable. With no timeouts, that is the one thing that cannot happen. If you were watching a Division III game in that situation, the no-name spare-ass analyst would be saying the QB cannot take a sack here no matter what. But he did.

Dak was good overall but that and stepping out of bounds on the 2-point play were awful.

I normally agree, but Steele was a turnstile. You expect QB to get at least 2 seconds.

I know it’s chic on this board to shit on this team every chance you get, but I have no bad feelings about this performance save for some of the shotty blocking by the O-line.
Same. It was disappointing to not win after getting to their 6 with four chances to win -- I thought for sure we were going to win after doing that -- but overall this was a pretty well-played game between two very good teams. They just happened to win by a nose.

I know the blocking was bad, but you have to feel that and if it's even close, just throw it out of the back of the endzone. Do that and no problem, you have time to reset and you're still close enough (even after the false start) to hit a quick pass for the win. From the 20 or whatever it's 10x harder.

Game was actually closer stat-wise than I thought. Cowboys rolled up 400 yards on the Philly D.
Big problem for Dallas is Steele absolutely sucked cock all game long. Also a big power back to hammer the inside of the Eagle DL probably makes that a different game at the end.
Just like every year, so close but yet so far. We never just “have it”.
Oh well.

Steele was so bad. I know they consider him a made man at this point but honestly he should be benched.
