Can you imagine how much bullshit will be flowing from this guy's mouth if we ever manage to make the Super Bowl again during his lifetime?

Two weeks between the NFCC and the Super Bowl?

It'd be around the clock nonsense.
I can put up with Jones babbling for a Super Bowl victory. Or to get to the SB.

Again, there is nothing terribly wrong losing this game.
There is a lot with losing this game.

That means basically, we are fucked.

Our best route to doing anything is winning the division.

A loss here makes that much less likely than it already is.

What would be wrong would be for the offense to take a step backwards.

Our goal is to improve and finish the regular season making the playoffs, winning the division, winning HFA in that order.

This game is more important than the 49ers game was, but a loss is not season-ending.

Frankly we are the toughest opponent the Eagles have faced and Dak has scored 40+ on them every game since 2021
A loss here pretty much guarantees a lot of what we have been used to to repeat itself.

The 49ers game made me question this team's mental toughness.

A loss in this game makes that doubt even stronger.

If they lay an egg like they did against SF I'd agree, but if they lose a tight 27-20 game?

Not much to really take from that.

And even if we lose I think we have something around a 35-40% chance at winning the division, obviously assuming we beat them in Dallas.

I'll also add that we need these head-to-head wins over the Eagles because the Cowboys schedule gets incredibly tough after Thanksgiving. Five straight games against teams that have a legit shot at winning their division.

Meanwhile the Eagles end the season with a cakewalk. They finish with two games against the Giants and one against the Cardinals.

Good luck getting third party help down the stretch from those two teams. The Cowboys will need to be in the catbird seat after Week 15 and probably won’t be able to afford a single slipup in the final 3 weeks.

Agreed. At some point this team needs a breakthrough, to show it can win big games against good teams. A loss here pretty much consigns the Cowboys to Wild Card status -- at best. That's just a repeat of where they've been for decades, which is nowhere.

It's hard to say you have a must win game only have way through the season. But this game is super important if we want to have a road to the Superbowl. You'll have to win a big game on the road eventually. Better now and maybe you won't have to in the playoffs.

I think both sides are right.

On the one hand, regarding this as a must win is basically saying that we need to sweep the eagles to win the division. I don't think that's the case just like I don't think they need to sweep us to win the division. We are separated in the loss column right now by 1 game so if we lose this week we aren't buried. And they have some losable games left including against us.

On the other hand, it would make the road a lot easier if we win this week. And it would give us a huge leg up if we sweep them.

But ultimately, win or lose, I don't think it makes any statement about this team and whether it's finally different. It's not. They will make the playoffs and stall around mid January again this year.

Bottom line the Cowboys offense isn’t cooked yet. We’re still getting guys like Cooks, Gallup, Deuce, and Pollard untracked not to mention the whole OL while I think the Eagles and 49ers have hit their stride and are what they are.

Even the Dallas defense is still figuring out a couple of roles.

It’s a super important game and certainly the most important so far, but let’s face it we’re still figuring things out. This is not a team of front-runners and so our best shot is to keep improving so we are rolling by the time the playoffs arrive.

I would love for that to be while winning the division, but that said the Eagles are at home and the Superbowl isn’t won the first week of November.

I think we have a good shot to win this game, but we could certainly lose. What we can’t do is come apart like we did in SF.

I was with you until you mentioned getting Gallup untracked. That ship appears to have sailed.

It’s super unlikely that both of our Eagles games end with the same winner. Neither will sweep the other.

It's not necessarily a must-win game in terms of respective records, but in one sense it's must-win game in terms of the team's perception of itself. It's a road game against a formidable division rival, a team thought of as near the top of the heap in the NFL.

So it's a big game if nothing else. And the Cowboys have come up short consistently in games like that for a long time.

Winning, and confidence, are self perpetuating. So are losing and lack of confidence. Boozeman used the term mental toughness. That's it in a nutshell.

If this were true, we wouldn't be undefeated since the SF game, and SF wouldn't be winless.
