Gallup needs to go away. I was a big supporter, but he is not good.
I seriously want to see Brooks get some of his snaps going forward. I see him as a similar player -- not the best pure speed but tall and lanky -- except I think Brooks is tougher and wants it more. He really seems like a ballplayer to me. You see him out there blocking and playing hard on special teams. Gallup I feel loses concentration and gets lazy doing his job.

Gallup seems checked out and skittish, that dropped TD last night was pathetic and kind of looks like a guy with alligator arms.

Unless he somehow explodes later in the year there is literally no justification for keeping him going into 2024.

I begin to insert Tolbert in Gallup's place.

Thoughts on KM’s offense with a real QB? There were quite a few new plays that we hadn’t seen in Dallas. However, Herbert still had 37 passes. In his defense, our defense bottled up Ekeler well.

Still, though, didn’t see as much 11 personnel spread out and hitch at the sticks.

Nothing matters. We should have lost this game by 10+. The defense couldn't generate pressure and Herbert had opportunities to make plays. The only reason we won is cause he overthrew Allen on two wide open shots downfield that would have resulted in scores.

Add to it the OL's regression and we will get feasted on by most teams that are playoff bound.
He doesn't score on either of those. The one sluggo I guess is debatable but our safety was coming and would have been in position to make a tackle.

I also think we created a lot of pressure, props to Herbert for scrambling and getting the ball off.

Looks more or less like what we saw last year, arguably even worse given that we had a more consistent run game.

A few nicely designed plays but the system as a whole isn't designed to build counters off counters, and overall there is a lack of imagination outside of a handful of pre-conceived play designs.

Our running game the last few years was more able to grind out the dirty yards than theirs is at the moment so I think that's the main difference, but I think seeing Moore run an offense with a so called elite QB talent should be eye opening for people.

their oline stalemated us for much of the game, even though we were getting pressure. But the run lanes were clogged.

Random Thoughts:

-Markquese Bell was amazing, if we can scheme around his size disadvantage he may be a long-term piece at LB, at least as long as Quinn is here. Clark seemed fine as well, especially since there didn't seem to be any huge miscommunication busts.
-The amount of pre-snap penalties and sloppiness was unbelievable and indicative of shit coaching and/or a lack of focus. I think they burned 3 timeouts on not being able to get lined up properly (offensively and defensively) or to avoid the play clock running out.
-I don't care what anybody says about the OL personnel, there aren't more than 3-5 OL's in the league with more pure talent (Eagles, Lions, maybe Browns off the top of my head), yet they look like a discombobulated mess. Take a look at SF or Miami's OL's and tell me those groups are significantly more talented or even as talented as ours, it just isn't the case. Maybe we're not seeing guys at their best because of injuries and so forth, but the amount of confusion on twist/stunt pickups in particular is ridiculous.
-The secondary continues to look out of sorts without Diggs (2nd and 24 conversion anybody?), I'm not really sure what it is except maybe they could scheme around Diggs, allowing him to take away his side of the field and sliding help in other directions.
-The pass rush didn't put up sacks but they were awesome all game, the Chargers got away with some fluke shit under pressure like the Herbert self-pass and a few scrambles, but the pass rush was the most impressive aspect of the game outside of Dak/Lamb.
-Pollard stock is dropping fast, we might be able to keep him next year for something like 3/18.
-Aubrey is so pure, another year, another win for Fassel in terms of picking a kicker off the scrap heap.
-Wilson looks like he might be rounding back into form in terms of attacking downhill and making plays around the LOS.

I know people were pissed about the Niner game, but it was ridiculous how much Moore was built up last week.

Anyway, what did you see going on with our OL? Anytime you get whipped that badly it's not just Xs and Os, it's effort or people hurt or indecision or something. I'm guessing Zack and Biadasz are still not healthy enough to be themselves at all. Probably Tryon also,

Really hoping the bye lets some of these guys get healed up so they can play better, because that was unacceptable.

Edit, pretty much stamped again

I said last week that if you dropped Dak into SF they wouldn't miss a beat, which is true.
No, it is not.

I know your thing is to downplay how good our rivals actually are and always have an optimistic outlook towards the Cowboys, but there is no damn way Dak Prescott goes in for Purdy and the 49ers get identical production.

Not a chance.
