I'm getting sick of the zone read runs to Pollard too. There is just nothing open inside on those. Dak needs to start keeping more of them because the defense has zero respect for it and it shows.

I want @Simpleton to weigh in on this, but is this offense looking more like the one we've run the last few years?

Without looking at it closely, that's what it seems like to me. Everything shotgun, routes similar. Seems different from what we did the first couple of weeks. And I'm just talking about the passing game, not the running game where we can't block anyone.

I have no idea what they are thinking when they run the ball. Just zero thought into it. It's just like hey, we will smash a bunch of guys up the middle and hope to get 2 yards.

I'm hoping Zack is still hurt. I've never seen him on the ground or standing around after the play so much.

But the OL being garbage is the biggest takeaway for me. That can't continue or we won't make the playoffs.

Dak was awesome and getting this one on the road was big, but the overall sloppiness with the penalties and the piss poor offensive design and OL play gives me absolutely 0 faith this team can make it to the NFCC unless things fall exactly right for us.

The OL just looks completely confused and tentative, and while Steele has been pretty shit there's no way you can tell me we don't have at least as much talent there as SF or Miami. The problem is the overall offensive scheme and/or the position-specific coaching.

Regardless of the game's ugliness, you always have to appreciate an INT to seal the win.

Such a rarity for us in the DCC era.

Man it's really hard to tell because the OL is so discombobulated, but it does seem that we're going shotgun excessively and running lots of static/isolated routes, comebacks and the like. I think we're going more gap runs than in the past but it looks kind of halfhearted without the same nuance as a team like the 49ers have in their run game.

I'm really hoping it's just all these guys dealing with injuries. They have all been hurt so much this year.

The scheme worries me though. I'm not sure if it's tighter splits or what but it just seems like a big pile up on every running play. There is no space at all. And we just aren't running anything outside. And the one play Pollard does get a wide run it was successful and they call a hold on Lamb FFS.

Everything on offense looks like a bunch of plays thrown together with no real purpose.
It feels like it has gotten worse as the season has gone on. Earlier in the year we at least had some designed short stuff and quick decisive passing game. Too conservative for my taste but now we have regressed to none of that and basically expecting Dak to just sort of wing it.

All these tough runs up the middle are gonna wear Pollard down and make him less explosive and effective as the season goes on too.

It looks like Schottenheimer is just as shitty as advertised.

RULE 10 OPPORTUNITY TO CATCH A KICK, FAIR CATCH
SECTION 1 OPPORTUNITY TO CATCH A KICK
ARTICLE 1. INTERFERENCE.
During a scrimmage kick that crosses the line of scrimmage, or during a free kick, members of
the kicking team are prohibited from interfering with any receiver making an attempt to catch the airborne kick, or from obstructing
or hindering his path to the airborne kick, regardless of whether any signal was given.

Item 1. Contact with Receiver. It is interference if a player of the kicking team contacts the receiver, or causes a passive player
of either team to contact the receiver, before or simultaneous to the receiver touching the ball.
It is not a foul if a kicking team
player is blocked into the receiver or the contact is the result of a foul.

Item 2. Right of Way. A receiver who is moving toward a kicked ball that is in flight has the right of way. If opponents obstruct his
path to the ball, or cause a passive player of either team to obstruct his path, it is interference, even if there is no contact, or if he
catches the ball in spite of the interference, and regardless of whether any signal was given.
Would be nice if the f'n refs knew the rules. We got massively screwed here, and it almost cost us the game.

Not to mention, there was also this. You can not tell me that every ref within 30 yards didn't have their eyes glued to this very spot.

And Troy nor Buck had the sense to say a word. It was plain as day.
