First, I can't imagine that's already been stated (by anyone who would know)... But second, I don't know if we could even absorb a 60 mil cap hit. I think they 100% intended to extend him from the start. I'm not sure how you move on even if you wanted to. Maybe a post June 1 helps some, not sure of the numbers on that.
Yeah Im sure it was speculation. Im sure they have already had discussions about Dak so I could see a way that someone deep inside would know what they are thinking. Not saying that is the case for sure. I was more wondering how they would be able to take that kind of hit to the cap and sign the guys they keep saying that they want to sign.

Zach Martin contract squabble probably caused an issue, right @Genghis Khan

For like what? One year? Okay, it would mean not paying him $60M in 2024, but he's not gonna want an annual salary in the $40's, either. Every dollar you pay him means less of a team you can put around him.

We can't double down on a mistake just because Dak's agent outsmarted the yokels. The problem is Jerry thinks every year is a potential SB year, so he won't cut the cord.
Jerry won't won't cut a cord and eat a salary because a) he won't admit a mistake, because b) in his diseased mind he doesn't make mistakes, because c) admitting a mistake makes him look even more incompetent and bumbling than much of the world already knows he is.

Damn, I'm one who does think the game has gotten too soft in some ways, but that was a nasty, dirty hit. Glad they ejected him.

Yeah, you just can't launch yourself helmet first. You simply can't predict where your head will strike, so don't do it.

You could make it hard for the guy you hit to speak in coherent sentences by the time he's 50.

Man, Willis can't play at all. I know, not breaking news here.

Wonder if Levis is even close to being able to try.

It sure would be nice if the Browns could somehow rise up and beat them. They are getting a little high on their horse after kicking our collective asses. The issue is Cleveland has no chance to score with a PS elevation in P.J. Walker starting this game because DeShaun Watson is a flake and won't play through injury. I do think Douche Defensive Coordinator will have them playing much better than Quinn had our unit prepared last week.
