He is actually a great fit for it. Blitz pickup, power running, catching the ball. The only thing he doesn't have is great speed but who cares when you only need 5-10 yards.Gotta save Lip for the red zone .
What I like is that he seems to have a little wiggle and can get yard’s after the catch.I think those two will only grow more productive. Ferguson is a good TE both blocking and catching.
This! I want this connection to continue to grow throughout.Nice that we got Dak-to-Fergie some momentum today.
I don't see any reason why he can't be what Zeke was for us the last two seasons. He is actually a great fit for it. Blitz pickup, power running, catching the ball. The only thing he doesn't have is great speed but who cares when you only need 5-10 yards.
That was a pretty disrespectful 'welcome home' to Zeke as well.Smashing Belichick and the Patriots like this feels good.
ooh, Emmitt callbackBut at least his shoulder blade wasn't broken by one of the safeties.
Or, as Booze like to call it, the shift. It's the god damn Hitch.Hitch is gorgeous.
I told you guys this about Leupke since his senior year at NDSU. That we needed him.I don't see any reason why he can't be what Zeke was for us the last two seasons.
He basically was a short yardage and redzone specialist with the occasional 15 yard run.
I really believe Leupke can be that too.
I thought he had a TD. Til he dropped it.Schoonmaker needs to hit the JUGS machine. He's one of the reasons the red zone offense wasn't crisp.
I want to see him used in passing game as well . He seems pretty sure handed and nimble.I told you guys this about Leupke since his senior year at NDSU. That we needed him.
Maybe now you guys will accept me for the football savant I am, and never again question anything I say.
One small thing, tho. He wasn't just a short yardage and redzone specialist in school. The dude would straight up dominate games all over the field. I realize it's a pretty big jump from NDSU to the NFL. But the guy has skills we should be using. He is a lot better receiving back than people realize. And we're seeing he has a little wiggle in the running game, too. And he can block.
I hate to compare him to The Moose. So I won't. There may never be another Moose. But I think Leupke can be the best FB type player we've had here since then.
Can't hate on that.
